Hello community! Life has given me wonderful musical moments and those who follow me have witnessed many of them inside and outside Hive. The concert I had as part of a world choir is the best thing that has happened to me this year so far and it touched my soul to such an extent that I have shared every moment of it through anecdotes, people and songs during the last month. I'm already running out of videos to share hehe, but just because it's one of the last ones, it doesn't make it any less important. Today it's Mexico's turn and my Mexican dream for the end of the year...

¡Hola comunidad!. La vida me ha regalado maravillosos momentos musicales y quienes me siguen han sido testigo de muchos de ellos dentro y fuera de Hive. El concierto que tuve formando parte de un coro mundial es lo mejor que me ha pasado este año hasta ahora y toco mi alma a tal punto que he compartido cada momento del mismo a través de anécdotas, personas y canciones durante el último mes. Ya se me está acabando el repertorio de videos a compartir jeje, pero por ser de los últimos no deja de ser más importante. Hoy le toca el turno a México y mi sueño mexicano de fin de año...

I will begin by telling you about the piece of music I share with you in today's video. It is called La Morena, the arrangement for four voices belongs to Julio Morales and the musical genre is Son Jarocho, popular from Veracruz according to what the Maestros told us in the workshops we had a month ago. Since my August holidays were over and I went back to Caracas to start rehearsals, I realised that despite being in Spanish, this was one of the most difficult songs to assemble among so many people. During the whole piece there is a voice that sings the melody and the others simulate the Mexican folk instruments, but despite all the rehearsals it didn't come out well and we had to do it very slowly to be able to understand each motif. The week of the congress arrived, a few days before the concert, and we were still in nappies with the staging, until Maestra Ana Patricia Carvajal, recently arrived from Veracruz to save our lives, entered the hall.

Comenzaré por hablarles de la pieza musical que les comparto en mi video de hoy. Se titula La Morena, el arreglo a cuatro voces pertenece a Julio Morales y el género musical es Son Jarocho, popular de Veracruz según nos nos han indicado los Maestros en los talleres que tuvimos hace un mes. Desde que terminaron mis vacaciones de Agosto y volví a Caracas a comenzar los ensayos me di cuenta de que a pesar de ser en español, esta era una de las canciones con más dificultad para ensamblar entre tanta gente. Durante toda la pieza hay una voz que canta la melodía y los demás simulan los instrumentos populares mexicanos, pero vaya que a pesar de tanto ensayo no nos salía bien y teníamos que hacerla muy lento para poder entender cada motivo. Llegó la semana del congreso, unos días antes del concierto y seguíamos en pañales con el montaje, hasta que entró a la sala la Maestra Ana Patricia Carvajal, recién llegadita de Veracruz a salvar nuestras vidas.

La Maestra gave us the style, the energy and the feel of Son Jarocho, finally becoming one of the favourite interpretations of both the group and the audience. This Mexican composition is so amazing to listen to that we left it almost at the end of the concert, second only to the Venezuelan piece because well, we are in Venezuela and we had to close with music from here. We learnt a lot from this valuable woman and the greatest hope was that she told us: "See you in a couple of months in Mexico", with all the faith in the world...

Podre mujer, la bienvenida que le dimos fue ponerla a trabajar de una vez 😅 pero les cuento que en 15 minutos, quizás hasta menos, la pieza se transformó en lo que pueden apreciar en este video. La Maestra nos proporcionó el estilo, la energía y el sentir del Son Jarocho, convirtiéndose finalmente en una de las interpretaciones favoritas tanto de la agrupación como del público asistente. Esta composición mexicana es tan sorprendente de escuchar que la dejamos casi al final del concierto, solo superada por la pieza venezolana porque bueno, estamos en Venezuela y teníamos que cerrar con música de acá. Aprendimos mucho de esta valiosa mujer y la esperanza más grande fue que nos dijo: "Nos vemos en un par de meses en México", con toda la fe del mundo...

The political situation in Venezuela has been very strong for years, in fact many of the guys who sing with me don't know anything other than Chávez and everything that has remained after him, but the last few years have been more intense, and that is noticeable in the migration of Venezuelans to other lands that has intensified since about 2016. The choir where I sing has performed in the world's leading concert halls, especially in Europe, and I think its high point was singing the opera La Boheme at the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, but we haven't had concerts outside Venezuela for many years, I think since the last performance in Vienna in 2018.

La situación política en Venezuela ha sido muy fuerte desde hace años, de hecho muchos de los muchachos que cantan conmigo no conocen otra cosa que no sea Chávez y todo lo que ha quedado después de él, pero los últimos años han sido más intensos, y eso se nota en la migración de venezolanos a otras tierras que se intensifico desde 2016 aproximadamente. La coral donde canto se ha presentado en las primeras salas del mundo, especialmente en Europa y creo que su punto máximo fue haber cantado la opera La Boheme en el Teatro Alla Scala de Milán, pero tenemos muchos años sin tener conciertos fuera de Venezuela, creo que desde la última presentación en Viena de 2018.

At the moment we have more than 50 pieces in rehearsals and several pre tour concerts, in fact we are scheduled to sing in several theatres in Mexico at the end of November, it's a dream for the whole group, especially for me who has never left Venezuela, but I don't want to be overjoyed, even though tickets are on sale in Mexico City because we were also scheduled to sing in Argentina this month, and here I am, writing posts from Caracas 🤣 But everything is going very, very well this time. En este momento tenemos más de 50 piezas en ensayos y varios conciertos pre gira, de hecho estamos programados para cantar en varios teatros de México a finales de Noviembre, es un sueño para todo el grupo, especialmente para mí que nunca he salido de Venezuela, pero no quiero alegrarme de más, aunque las entradas estén a la venta en el D.F. porque también estábamos programados para cantar en Argentina este mes, y aquí estoy, redactando posts desde Caracas 🤣 Pero todo va muy, muy bien esta vez, de hecho ya le había dicho a @eddiespino que quizás nos conoceríamos en Agosto, pero por cuestiones de visa todo se ha retrasado. Estamos a unos días de tener la respuesta definitiva, pero mientras tanto hay que trabajar duro, no sea que el viaje nos sorprenda y no estemos listos.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, we're holding on to this website where the name of our band and one of the dates in question are listed. I would like to invite the mexican community in Hive to attend, but I can't promise anything hahaha, it doesn't depend on me, I just have to be present every day, sound good and look pretty 😅 but the faith we have is great and so is the great work we are doing. Aunque no nos hayan confirmado nada aún nos aferramos a este sitio web donde sale el nombre de nuestra agrupación y una de las fechas en cuestión. Me gustaría invitar a la comunidad mexicana en Hive a que puedan asistir, pero no puedo prometer nada jajaja, no depende de mí, yo solo debo estar presente a diario, sonar bien y verme bonito 😅 pero la fe que tenemos es grande y también el gran trabajo que estamos haciendo.
