Para mí, el flaco Spinetta fue uno de los mejores artistas que ha pisado el planeta, tal vez no era el mejor bailarín, ni el mejor cantante, ni tampoco el mejor showman, pero lo que lo hacía único y especial era su forma de componer y escribir sus letras. Spinetta tenía un estilo más acercado al jazz, hay canciones de él que te vuelan el cerebro en todo aspecto, y ya de por sí el jazz es un género que hace eso en las mentes de quien lo saben apreciar, claro; el jazz de Spinetta era de esos estilos de jazz más disonantes, tensos y complejos.

Las letras del flaco estaban cargadas con argumentos filosóficos bastante profundos, lo que adoro de dichos argumentos plasmados en sus letras, es que no eran conocimientos vacíos, eran conceptos que se podían poner al servicio de cualquier existencia humana. Para mí, un conocimiento se vuelve vacío e irrelevante cuando no está al servicio de la vida, concepto que el mismo Nietzsche (un filósofo alemán del siglo pasado bastante influyente) desarrollo en su libro "Así habló Zaratustra", Nietzsche planteo, en forma de metáforas e historias poéticas desarrolladas en el libro y con el personaje de Zaratustra, que de cierta forma, estaba cansado de las corrientes filosóficas ortodoxas y convencionales que daban vueltas en círculos, planteándose argumentos y búsqueda de verdades innecesarias, cuando el verdadero estudio y corriente del pensamiento debería estar enfocada en como el hombre debe autorrealizarse, en como los humanos podrían evolucionar a algo mejor. El conocimiento que no está al servicio del bienestar moral y espiritual de la humanidad es simplemente INÚTIL.

He citado a Nietzsche porque es un filósofo del cual se inspiraba Spinetta para escribir sus letras, y eso era notable, ya que en muchas canciones de este mismo artista, hay ciertos mensajes dirigidos a la reflexión moral y personal en situaciones de angustia.

Ahora, hablando de la canción como tal: A mi parecer, barro tal vez es una canción dedicada a la armonía cósmica e infinita subyacente a la percepción de nuestros sentidos comunes. La canción comienza con una idea de necesidad, la necesidad de expresar, a toda costa, los sentimientos que pueden envenenar desde el interior. Seguido de eso, hay un mensaje de la letra que dice: "Si quiero me tocó el alma, pues mi carne ya no es nada, he de fusionar mi resto con el despertar, aunque se pudra mi boca por callar". Spinetta, en estos versos, hace referencia a la eternidad del alma y la temporalidad del cuerpo, el cuerpo material es temporal, pero el alma es eterna, indestructible e indivisible. Creo que al decir que quiere fusionar su resto con el despertar, hace referencia a unir su conciencia con algo más sublime, un proceso de evolución que va más allá de la moción frívola del cuerpo y sus necesidades.

For me, el flaco Spinetta was one of the best artists that ever walked the planet, maybe he was not the best dancer, nor the best singer, nor the best showman, but what made him unique and special was his way of composing and writing his lyrics. Spinetta had a style closer to jazz, there are songs by him that blow your mind in every aspect, and jazz is a genre that does that in the minds of those who know how to appreciate it, of course; Spinetta's jazz was one of those jazz styles more dissonant, tense and complex.

Spinetta's lyrics were loaded with deep philosophical arguments, what I love about those arguments expressed in his lyrics is that they were not empty knowledge, they were concepts that could be put at the service of any human existence. For me, a knowledge becomes empty and irrelevant when it is not at the service of life, a concept that Nietzsche himself (a German philosopher of the last century quite influential) developed in his book "Thus Spake Zarathustra", Nietzsche raised, in the form of metaphors and poetic stories developed in the book and with the character of Zarathustra, that in a certain way, he was tired of the orthodox and conventional philosophical currents that went around in circles, posing arguments and searching for unnecessary truths, when the true study and current of thought should be focused on how man should self-realize himself, on how humans could evolve to something better. Knowledge that is not in the service of the moral and spiritual welfare of mankind is simply USELESS.

I have quoted Nietzsche because he is a philosopher from whom Spinetta was inspired to write his lyrics, and that was remarkable, since in many songs of this same artist, there are certain messages aimed at moral and personal reflection in situations of anguish.

Now, talking about the song as such: In my opinion, barro is perhaps a song dedicated to the cosmic and infinite harmony underlying the perception of our common senses. The song begins with an idea of necessity, the need to express, at all costs, the feelings that can poison from within. Followed by that, there is a message from the lyrics that says: "If I want to touch my soul, because my flesh is nothing, I have to merge my rest with the awakening, even if my mouth rots for keeping silent". Spinetta, in these verses, refers to the eternity of the soul and the temporality of the body, the material body is temporary, but the soul is eternal, indestructible and indivisible. I believe that when he says that he wants to merge his rest with the awakening, he is referring to unite his consciousness with something more sublime, a process of evolution that goes beyond the frivolous motion of the body and its needs.
