(ENG-ESP) HECHIZADA - NAHUAL, MEDICINE SONG (COVER BY GOPAL CAMARGO)

Greetings to all my fellow musicians in this wonderful community of artists! Today I continue with my musical content to expand the mind a little bit and enjoy in the same way.

In my early days with music, I was dedicated to playing "medicine songs" or songs I heard in some yage ceremony. I was very attracted to the beautiful lyrics and melodies that I listened to during the medicine rituals all night long.

When I started playing guitar, very empirically I was able to play some medicine songs. Then, as time went by, I acquired more knowledge in the area of theory, solfège and execution. My advancement in music was by leaps and bounds, and before long I was composing and singing at formidable levels.

As I mentioned earlier, my beginnings are rooted in southern songs with Andean rhythms and shamanic and spiritual themes (music within indigenous medicine circles). The truth is that as I went through studies and culturization I was able to delve more into other musical styles (including my original creations). I realized that really all music is medicine, and calling something "medicine music" ended up being for me a term that can be used more globally when addressing any kind of music.

There are songs that are not strictly shamanic, but they have a very beautiful lyrical content that leads to spiritual reflection; and I think that's what the characteristic of medicine music is all about.

Music is medicine in all its states, medicine that adapts to the diverse levels of consciousness, to the diverse
different levels of consciousness, to the different searches and states of vibration. According to our nature we seek, even unconsciously, what is most familiar to the comfort of our spirit. It is the perceptions that define a varied and interesting ecosystem of levels of thought, preferences and personalities which sometimes agree and sometimes not, but it is the harmony and respect that makes us all vibrate integrally in the search for our way of healing.

The song that I bring today "Hechizada" is by an Argentine musician called "Nahual". This is a song that I heard thanks to some musician friends of the medicine ceremonies, who covered the piece and it was very good. What I have done is a kind of version of the version ha, ha, ha, ha.

Hechizada is one of the first songs I learned to sing. I know very little about the original author, I only know that he is Argentinian ha, ha, ha. The lyrics of this song are not very well adapted to my understanding, I will try to interpret it on the fly to see if I can find some sense, as it is a lyric with a beautiful poetry; but it doesn't seem to talk about something specific but a lot of wonderful things and events amalgamated in its lyrics:

"In this air where mystic I sing
What should I write?
That with the powerful force of love
the world is happy
With double strings I hold the song
Wonderful butterfly calama calama rose mind instant primitive candy fantasy
Inside crystallizes majica the melody"

I don't know what he means by "mystical" but I assume he is referring to a transcendental figure who invites or inspires him to write something on his behalf, giving response with the verse of the powerful force of love.
"with double strings I hold the song" must refer to the control he has over his artistic creation. And already the following part seems like a bunch of beautiful words describing a complex creative process or a psychedelic state.

"If the beast verse appeared and here he sowed the education
I declare my whole station of clarity
It touched my chest I know I want to cooperate
Aahh frozen sigh
Overturn the potion of starry actors"

The beast verse I really don't know what it is, but I think it may refer to an "animal" or ancestral nature knowledge that came to impart new knowledge. "I declare my whole station of clarity, I touch my chest I know I want to cooperate" this part seems very beautiful to me, I think it speaks of an invocation to a state of lucidity that you have decided to have at will. "Pour the potion of star actors" refers to the renunciation of the ambition of fame.

"And no longer doubt it
I felt my vocation
I put it in front of me, I said to it here I am
And in the morning I am alert and with tension
I sing to your courage and it's time to go out
And find out who you have to destroy
It's your own net that makes you infer"

In this stanza I perceive an optimistic energy in what is expressed: "And I no longer doubt it. I feel that this part talks about connecting with what you are passionate about (your vocation) without any doubt. The rest of this stanza is a loving process of declaration "I put her in front of me, I told her let's go" and a proposal to raise even more courage to go out and destroy people, ha, ha, ha, ha. The truth is that the part of "And discover who you have to destroy" I don't really understand, I don't know if "destroy" is synonymous of something else like "transform" or "overcome" some bad aptitudes of others.

"And in the truth of each one is the pain.
Preference makes you lose your mind
with adjectives that burst your passion.
The wind stops blowing in your favor"

In this part, we find the description of how individuals carry pain thanks to our convictions "And in each one's truth is pain" and when he says "Preference makes you lose your mind with adjectives that burst your passion" he talks about the conditioning of our mind to put "preferential" qualifiers to what we supposedly need; which ends up making things not go in our favor by not knowing how to look for love from compassion if not from criticism and demand.

As I mentioned before, medicine is everywhere. Whether it is good or bad, or something that simply does not look like us does not mean that it is not an opportunity to heal, learn and harmonize with others. I started out playing "medicine music" but then moved away from it looking for other styles where there is also medicine, and this song is a perfect example of what it is to be medicine beyond a label; because it is a very beautiful song that I have heard in shamanic ceremonies.

Saludos y abrazos a todos mis colegas músicos de esta maravillosa comuunidad artista! Aquí les sigo trayendo contenido musical para expandir un poco la mente y pasar un buen momento.

En mis inicios con la música, me dedicaba a tocar "canciones de medicina" o canciones que escuchaba en alguna ceremonia de yage. Me atraían mucho las bellas letras y melodías que escuchaba durante los rituales de medicina durante toda la noche.

Cuando empecé a tocar la guitarra, muy empíricamente pude tocar algunas canciones de medicina. Luego, con el paso del tiempo, adquirí más conocimientos en el ámbito de la teoría, el solfeo y la ejecución. Mi avance en la música fue a pasos agigantados, y en poco tiempo estaba componiendo y cantando a niveles formidables.

Como mencioné anteriormente, mis inicios están arraigados en las canciones sureñas con ritmos andinos y temas chamánicos y espirituales (música dentro de los círculos de medicina indígena). Lo cierto es que a medida que fui avanzando en los estudios y la culturización pude ahondar más en otros estilos musicales (incluyendo mis creaciones originales). Me di cuenta de que en realidad toda la música es medicina, y llamar a algo "música medicinal" terminó siendo para mí un término que se puede utilizar de forma más global al abordar cualquier tipo de música.

Hay canciones que no son estrictamente chamánicas, pero tienen un contenido lírico muy hermoso que lleva a la reflexión espiritual; y creo que en eso consiste la característica de la música medicinal.

La música es medicina en todos sus estados, medicina que se adapta a los diversos niveles de conciencia, a los diversos
diferentes niveles de conciencia, a las diferentes búsquedas y estados de vibración. Según nuestra naturaleza, buscamos, incluso inconscientemente, lo que es más familiar para el confort de nuestro espíritu. Son las percepciones las que definen un variado e interesante ecosistema de niveles de pensamiento, preferencias y personalidades que a veces coinciden y otras no, pero es la armonía y el respeto lo que nos hace vibrar a todos en una búsqueda de sanación original en integracion

La canción que traigo hoy "Hechizada" es de un músico argentino llamado "Nahual". Es una canción que escuché gracias a unos músicos amigos de las ceremonias de medicina, que versionaron la pieza y quedó muy bien. Lo que he hecho es una especie de versión ja, ja, ja, ja.

Hechizada es una de las primeras canciones que aprendí a cantar. Sé muy poco del autor original, sólo sé que es argentino ja, ja, ja. La letra de esta canción no se adapta muy bien a mi entendimiento, intentaré interpretarla sobre la marcha a ver si le encuentro algún sentido, ya que es una letra con una hermosa poesía; pero no parece hablar de algo en concreto sino de un montón de cosas y acontecimientos maravillosos amalgamados en su letra:

"En este aire donde místico canto
¿Qué debo escribir?
Que con la poderosa fuerza del amor
el mundo es feliz
Con dobles cuerdas sostengo la canción
Maravillosa mariposa calama calama rosa mente instantánea caramelo primitivo fantasía
Dentro cristaliza majica la melodía"

No sé a qué se refiere con "mística" pero supongo que se refiere a una figura trascendental que le invita o inspira a escribir algo en su nombre, dando respuesta con el verso de la poderosa fuerza del amor.
"con dobles cuerdas sostengo la canción" debe referirse al control que tiene sobre su creación artística. Y ya la parte siguiente parece un puñado de bellas palabras que describen un complejo proceso creativo o un estado psicodélico.

"Si el verso de la bestia apareció y aquí sembró la educación
Declaro toda mi estación de claridad
Me tocó el pecho sé que quiero cooperar
Aahh suspiro congelado
Volcar la pócima de los actores estelares"

El verso de la bestia realmente no sé lo que es, pero creo que puede referirse a un conocimiento "animal" o de la naturaleza ancestral que vino a impartir nuevos conocimientos. "Declaro toda mi estación de claridad, me toco el pecho sé que quiero cooperar" esta parte me parece muy bonita, creo que habla de una invocación a un estado de lucidez que has decidido tener a voluntad. "Vierte la pócima de los actores estrella" se refiere a la renuncia a la ambición de la fama.

"Y ya no lo dudé
Sentí mi vocación
La puse delante de mí, le dije aquí estoy
Y por la mañana estoy alerta y con tensión
Le canto a tu coraje y es hora de salir
Y descubrir a quien tienes que destruir
Es tu propia red la que te hace inferir"

En esta estrofa percibo una energía optimista en lo expresado: "Y ya no lo dudo". Siento que esta parte habla de conectar con lo que te apasiona (tu vocación) sin ninguna duda. El resto de esta estrofa es un proceso amoroso de declaración "la puse delante de mí, le dije vamos" y una propuesta de reunir aún más valor para salir a destruir gente, ja, ja, ja. La verdad es que la parte de "Y descubre a quien tienes que destruir" no la entiendo muy bien, no sé si "destruir" es sinónimo de otra cosa como "transformar" o "superar" algunas malas aptitudes de otros.

"Y en la verdad de cada uno está el dolor.
La preferencia te hace perder la cabeza
con adjetivos que revientan tu pasión.
El viento deja de soplar a tu favor"

En esta parte, encontramos la descripción de cómo los individuos cargamos con el dolor gracias a nuestras convicciones "Y en la verdad de cada uno está el dolor" y cuando dice "La preferencia te hace perder la cabeza con adjetivos que revientan tu pasión" habla del condicionamiento de nuestra mente a poner calificativos "preferentes" a lo que supuestamente necesitamos; lo que acaba haciendo que las cosas no vayan a nuestro favor al no saber buscar el amor desde la compasión si no desde la crítica y la exigencia.

Como he mencionado antes, la medicina está en todas partes. Si es buena o mala, o algo que simplemente no se parece a nosotros no significa que no sea una oportunidad para sanar, aprender y armonizar con los demás. Empecé tocando "música medicinal" pero luego me alejé de ella buscando otros estilos donde también hay medicina, y esta canción es un ejemplo perfecto de lo que es ser medicina más allá de una etiqueta; porque es una canción muy hermosa que he escuchado en ceremonias chamánicas.
