Hey there fellow needleworkers! Happy Monday. I hope we are all looking at a bright and clear week ahead. If not, I hope we get enough coffee, yarns, and hooks to help us get by.
I incorporated crochet in our lesson about shapes last week. Now my daughter knows a hexagon has 6 sides and 6 points. And she loves the crochet hexagon I made to help her learn. I on the other hand needed to go through a lot of trials and errors before I got to this video on how to make a crochet hexagon.
On my Guess the WIP contest announcement, I mentioned that I used the circle at the center approach on how to make the hexagon. In the video, it shows that I used the basic method of making a circle but added chains on each increase per row to make the corners more obvious. I want the corners to be pointy and easy to identify to make the Hive Design easier to make.
After making the hexagon, I then used the white yarn and just slip stitched across the surface to kinda draw the Hive logo. I had a boo boo on my first trials. One even went to actual production. I was already using the hairclip when I noticed that the logo was actually off.
I decided to still keep this hairclip. Learn from our mistakes, right? And I intend to keep this souvenir for my oopsie just for laughs. LOL
To me, what's important is that did not lose my patience and that I did not give up. I am actually thankful that I made this WIP into a contest because that was what kept me going.
The contest got only one guesser this week. I decided to make her the winner. Congratulations Mommy @june21neneng and thank you for always joining the guess the WIP contest. You will get the HBD earning of the announcement post.
Hoping to see your comment again on the next guess the WIP contest!
