    About :

Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa!

This is my 33rd week contributing to "Three Tune Tuesday", an initiative started by @ablaze. It is week 98 overall! We are getting close to the big 100 - which will be a massive milestone!

In all of my TTT entries I like to play the songs on guitar as well as share the original videos. I have a new pattern for "Three Tune Tuesday" where I pick three songs by one of my favourite artists, that has inspired me - as I also write original songs.

This week I would like to do Van (the Man) Morrison! As an Irish person, I hope @ablaze is a fan - after last week's U2, I seem to (hopefully) be filling @ablaze with National Pride! What's next? Enya? Hahaha!

Van Morrison (like U2, Neil Young and especially Bob Dylan) was hard to pick only three songs... I think we may have to revisit all of these acts one day for Part 2...

Let's kick off with one of the most famous Van Morrison songs, "Moondance". This one is quite jazzy and seems a favourite of cover artists including Michael Buble...

    Here is the original version:

Next up, I want to do something a bit more obscure. The song "Caravan"! My favourite performance of this song was when Van Morrison performed it at "The Last Waltz" concert in 1976.

When Bob Dylan's band (literally called "The Band") broke up in 1976, they had one last amazing concert called "The Last Waltz". All sorts of stars from that era were invited... Bob Dylan himself of course, but also Neil Diamond, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton and Van Morrison...

Van Morrison took advantage of the full orchestra to really emphasize the energy of the song at the end. The famous director Martin Scorcese made a movie out of "The Last Waltz" - if you love the artists I mentioned, you should try watch it... here's footage of that version of "Caravan" - please watch it!:

Finally, let's finish with probably Van Morrison's most famous song of all... the one that plays at all the pubs and clubs... "Brown Eyed Girl"!

    Here's the original version:

So that's week 98 done and dusted! I hope you enjoyed the Van Morrison songs! Which song was your favourite? Did I miss an important one to you?

I definitely think everyone I have done in this format so far is worthy of a Part 2:

Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, Neil Young, U2 and Van Morrison... but let's do some others first!

So, which artist will I do three covers of next week?

Before I go... please look out for my weekly cover request post on Thursdays! If you make a song request in the comments, and then I attempt the song, you get rewarded with 50% of that post's rewards in HP! It's as simple as that!
