    About :

Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa!

This is my 51st week in a row contributing to "Three Tune Tuesday", an initiative started by @ablaze. It is week 116 overall!

In all of my TTT entries so far, I have tried to play the songs on guitar as well as share the original videos... and my current pattern for "Three Tune Tuesday" is to pick three songs by one of my favourite artists, that has inspired me - as I also write original songs.

I plan to reach 52 weeks in a row, a full year, before putting the guitar down and merely sharing 3 videos like an ordinary human being! Hahaha!

So, 2 weeks of covers to go. I thought it would be nice to revisit some of my favourite prolific artists I have already tackled and do a Part 2!

This week I would like to tackle Bob Dylan - Part 2! The first time I tackled Bob Dylan, I did:
    Blowing in the Wind
    Blind Willie McTell
    All Along the Watchtower

This time, I would like to start with something that Bob Dylan didn't actually write, but that he completely rearranged and made his own...

"Moonshiner" was originally something of a traditional Irish song. Here's how the Clancy Brothers used to do it... and there is a good chance that Bob Dylan heard their version first as he was apparently a big fan of theres in his early Greenwhich Village days...

Bob Dylan took "Moonshiner" and completely reimagined it as a tragic ballad about an alcoholic. Suddenly the song is far more emotional, and sounds completely different...

What's next? Well Bob Dylan is very famous for protest songs. How about "Masters of War"?

I can't play this song and not be inspired by Eddie Vedder's performance of it. Bob Dylan signed with Columbia in 1962. In 1992, there was a 30th Anniversary Tribute Concert and all sorts of artists came to play Bob Dylan covers including Tracy Chapman, Richie Havens, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, you name it... but for me, this is one of the highlights of the whole thing:

For my last Bob Dylan song, I would like to do the famous "Knocking on Heaven's Door". This was actually originally on the soundtrack that Bob Dylan created for a Western film about Pat Garett and Billy the Kid!

So that's week 116 done and dusted! I hope you enjoyed the second batch of songs by Bob Dylan?

And so, which artist will I revisit for next week, for TTT number 117, for my 52nd and final week in a row?

I hope you tune in to find out, and thank you so much for clicking/watching/reading this time!!

From Week 118/(53 for me), when I start sharing the original videos only (like a normal human being with limited free time Hahaha!), my one thought was to try and pick songs that match the theme for the week for the "Hive Open Mic" challenge, and encourage people who take part in that to come over and check if they're feeling stuck. Would this be a good idea?
