Hello everybody on Hive and especially the PukoMundo Community! My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa!

I’m not in the backseat of my car in the office parking lot for a change… Monday has been a public holiday in South Africa, and so I got to stay home and rehearse a bit for a gig coming up in two weeks with the other member of my collaborative duo (MobeyDick), @clairemobey!

This is Week 62 of “The Singing Voice” or “La Voz Cantante” challenge! The aim of the game is to play a rock cover, or perhaps a cover of a genre that led to the formation of rock music.

With @clairemobey visiting, I thought why not let her sing lead (and be a beneficiary of the post as a reward) on our rather jazzed-up, rhythmic cover of “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac? This song was released in 1977 during a time of turmoil for the band when several of the bandmembers were divorcing or breaking up with each other, and it really shows on this song, as well as “Go Your Own Way”, another very famous one! So, it might not have been the happiest time for the band, but it led to at least two great songs!

The chord structure I use is actually more reminiscent of a cover version by “The Corrs”, that corresponds roughly to when @clairemobey and I were growing up! Hahaha!

¡Hola a todos en Hive y especialmente a la Comunidad PukoMundo! ¡Mi nombre es Jasper y les escribo (y canto) desde Ciudad del Cabo, Sudáfrica!

Para variar, no estoy en el asiento trasero de mi auto en el estacionamiento de la oficina... El lunes ha sido un feriado público en Sudáfrica, así que tengo que quedarme en casa y ensayar un poco para un concierto que se realizará dentro de dos semanas con los otro miembro de mi dúo colaborativo (MobeyDick), @clairemobey!

¡Esta es la Semana 62 del desafío “La Voz Cantante” o “La Voz Cantante”! El objetivo del juego es tocar una versión de rock, o tal vez una versión de un género que condujo a la formación de la música rock.

Con la visita de @clairemobey, pensé, ¿por qué no dejarla cantar como líder (y ser beneficiaria de la publicación como recompensa) en nuestra versión rítmica y bastante animada de "Dreams" de Fleetwood Mac? Esta canción fue lanzada en 1977 durante una época de confusión para la banda cuando varios de los miembros de la banda se estaban divorciando o rompiendo, y realmente se nota en esta canción, así como en “Go Your Own Way”, otra muy famosa. ! Entonces, puede que no haya sido el momento más feliz para la banda, ¡pero dio lugar a al menos dos grandes canciones!

La estructura de acordes que uso en realidad recuerda más a una versión de "The Corrs", que corresponde aproximadamente a cuando @clairemobey y yo estábamos creciendo. ¡Jajaja!
