It's a lovely Sunday once again, and I'm happy to have you all here. I hope you have a successful week.
I will be sharing with us another skill I acquired during the week, as a makeup artist one thing I detest most is tying a head tie, this is one of the aspects of make-up I dislike so much, and I am too sluggish to do it because I don't put too much interest in it.
During the week, a client came to my studio for both makeup and gele tying. Gele, also known as a head tie in Nigeria, is a component of our attire, although some Yoruba tribes appreciate it more than other tribes.
As I was saying, the client needed makeup and gele tying, but I was only able to make her up. I then called a friend of mine to assist her in tying the gele, but she informed me that it was not around and would not be returning till evening. I was so ashamed that I had to tell the client that I don't do gele tying.
After the client departed, I felt so ashamed of myself that I vowed to learn how to make this gele tying on my own and include it in my makeup. The following day, I visited my friend and wanted to try it out after seeing a wedding post. She guided me through the process and asked me to put it to the test.
When I first attempted it, it came out not well, but I promised myself that I wouldn't give up. When I tried it again, I was getting it, but it wasn't quite right, so I practiced some more and left her side.
The next day, I went to my studio and called a neighbor to test it on her so I could put what I had learned from my friend into practice. This is the result. I enjoy learning new things and putting them into practice, and I'm excited to share my new skills with my Hive family.
