C418?... Daniel Rosenfeld? Doesn't really ring a bell huh? Well, if you have ever played the game Minecraft then... you're most likely more already acquainted with his music than you realize.

Daniel Rosenfeld aka C418 is a German Musician, sound engineer, and producer whole is best known as the original composer of the very widely popular and acclaimed Video game - Minecraft.

In his youth, Rosenfeld was your classic young, bored, struggling musician in Berlin whom, when fortune hit, was offered what could be termed as a serendipitous offer by one of his indie developer friends to provide a soundtrack for the game. A game that will go on to sell millions and millions of copies all over the world and in turn make Daniel one of the top selling artists in the world.

Most of the soundtrack in the game comprises of calm, subtle, melancholic, and ambient sounds that, even when taking away out of context from the game, can provide the listener with a peaceful and very relaxing feeling.

Because of Minecraft's natural state of being completely randomly generated, composer – Daniel Rosenfeld – when asked how he was able to integrate this into his creative process said:

It’s tricky. Minecraft specifically is just so random; you can’t predict anything at all, ever. For example, I can’t make music that makes any sense to the environment. You might go down into a cave. And I could make ‘cave’ music for that, ’cuz you’re in a cave. The problem is, I don’t know if it’s a cave, I’ve just assumed that. For all I know it could be a player-made house. So, I make music that doesn’t really have a theme. Basically, you can interpret whatever you want from it because it all shares the same sort of melancholy.

Needles to say, this music does justice to every single moment in the game whether be it cheerfully chopping blocks in your home or furiously trying to slay a dragon in the nether.

For this particular tutorial, I have created a Synthesia like video of one of the Main themes in the game: Sweden. I'll also be posting tutorials on the other various themes in the game such as Calm 1, Wet hands, Living mice, and much more.

Please, feel free to use this tutorial, and the other ones to come, however you please. Whether it be for learning or for relaxing...

I guess I'll see you in the next Server then :)

Thanks for reading and keep exploring!
