Welcome back to the most Christmasy blog in all of Hive!
Today I'm sharing with you a new recipe inspired by this time of the year! The truth is that I had made this recipe a few days ago and I was planning to share it last week, but all these days close to December 24 were a total madness...running from here to there to organize the Christmas dinner, buying a few gifts and, in the middle of all that, having to do a work for the University (apparently the professors do not want us to rest even at Christmas), but finally here we are to make this recipe together.
I loved this recipe and with it I can prove that you don't need to have too many implements to make a beautiful and eye-catching decoration for a dessert. The only thing we need a lot of is creativity.
✔ 1 cup oat flour
✔ ⅛ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
✔ ½ cup sweetener (I use stevia extract)
✔ 1 teaspoon baking powder + ½ teaspoon baking soda
✔ Vanilla extract and ground cinnamon to taste to taste
✔ 120 mL almond milk (can be any other type of vegetable drink, even skim milk works too)
✔ A pinch of salt
✔ Chocolate blanco sin azúcar
✔ Colorante verde (opcional)
✔ Sprinkles navideños
✔ Unsweetened white chocolate
✔ Green food coloring (optional)
✔ Christmas Sprinkles
The first thing to do is to beat the eggs together with the sweetener. The secret is to beat enough to incorporate enough air into the mixture. Then, add the oat flour, we will not add it completely...rather we will incorporate it and mix it, then we intercalate it with a small portion of milk and so on. This is to avoid lumps in the mixture.
Later, we will add the cinnamon, the vanilla essence and the pinch of salt. The latter is only to enhance the cocoa flavor. Finally, we will add the baking powder and the baking soda, we will integrate these last ingredients very well. Place the mixture in a baking dish previously greased or covered with parchment paper. Bake for approximately 15 minutes at a temperature of 180 °C (350 °F).
To make sure the brownie is ready, insert a toothpick in the center and if it comes out dry, it is time to remove it from the oven. Let it rest long enough to unmold the brownie and cut it into triangles and then proceed to the most fun part of this recipe: the decoration.
I used unsweetened white chocolate to make some lines. I used a small plastic bag in which I placed the melted chocolate and then cut a part of its ends to make the decoration. Finally, I decorated with some Christmas sprinkles and that was it, super easy, delicious and adorable!
These Christmas brownies turned out so cute that I didn't even want to eat them afterwards. As I was saying, sometimes it doesn't take much to make a nice decoration for our desserts, we just need to have a little creativity and let our ideas guide us.
Of all the Christmas-inspired desserts and breakfasts I have prepared lately, these little trees take the first place for me...I simply loved them!
Let It Snow!
Switching gears a bit, in all of these Christmas recipe videos I've incorporated classic Christmas songs that are my favorites. The theme song for this post is Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!, the version of the great Frank Sinatra. I think the video is pretty cool, so at the end of the post I'll share the link so you can watch it and get even more of this Christmas vibe.
Thanks for reading this post. See you next time!
