This "Re7+" by my opponent really disconcerted me, because I simply did not consider it in my calculation and with this move he recovers a pawn, and although there could be options to fight, because of the little time left on the clock, I could not react in the best way. Another of the defeats in this training tournament was against little Juan Condori:
The defeat with young Andrea had affected my mood, in the game with little Juan I did not feel inspired, and I felt very disoriented in the position, to the point that before this "Nc5" I consumed more than 10 minutes of time to make "Rb1", a very passive move, instead it was better to take the rook to the semi-open column "c". And these are part of the emotions that are experienced in every game, so it is important to know how to manage the bitter taste of defeat. In this regard, young Dennis Suana gives us some important advice:
This 14 year old young man transmits us a great message, which we can summarize in not seeing defeats as something ugly, but as lessons learned, at the same time he invites us to always write down the games, even if this is not mandatory, since in this way we can build a database of our performances, so that it can be analyzed, and thus find ways to improve. Regarding this path, the young athlete Estefany Oporto, shares an interesting reflection:
“…no sobre pensar las cosas”
"...not overthink things"
"...chess has many benefits at an intellectual level, also if you enjoy it, it is very useful for relaxation and analysis, which helps you in your future and also in your present".
"...chess helps you in mathematics."
