Bertrayo Plays: Guacamelee | Snuffing out that fire! [No Commentary Gameplay]

Today, we come back to the Mexiverse and continue our quest to defeat the evil Calaca whose first name is Carlos.

Last time, we defeated Calaca's ex-girlfriend in a one-timer showdown. Now, it's time to go ahead and climb the Tule Tree to keep improving our abilities and keep kicking his lackeys' rears!

So, this tree was quite a challenge to climb. It needed a lot from the dimensional shift ability and precise timing. I think I got the gist of it since I had a lot of practice climbing and I bet it will be a very important tool in boss fights as well. Climbing the tree rewarded us with the Double Jump ability, which is a staple of these games. However, as the game is trolling too, it also gave us a Choozo Statue with No Power. I love these clever punts.

It turns out there was nothing on the tree but these abilities, but they were needed to go back to the desert and enter the Temple of War and learning some new skills over there. And there's a few new types of enemies that are really tough, but we are tougher.

The run wouldn't be complete without a Boss Fight. It was Flame Face's hour to get some pummeling. And that's exactly what he got during this fight. The fight had some clever designs and he made use of his ranged attacks. Nothing a few dodges can't handle, but only when you make them at the right time.

Enjoy this third part of Guacamelee. We are getting closer to the end of the game. And the power ups to explore are making it a lot easier to traverse the stages.

Hoy, volvemos al Mexiverse y continuamos con nuestra aventura para derrotar al Calaca cuyo primer nomber es Carlos.

La ultima vez que pasamos por aquí bailamos un tango con la ex-novia de Calaca. Ahora, es tiempo de continuar nuestro camino y escalar el Tule Tree para mejorar nuestras abilidades y seguir pateando traseros.

Este árbol fue todo un reto para escalar. La habilidad de cambiar de dimensión tuvo un énfasis muy grande en esta área. Eso y la necesidad de saber en qué momento usarla. Creo que logré agarrarle la vuelta en la escalada. Estoy seguro que la habilidad será necesaria en peleas contra jefes. Llegar a la cima del árbol nos otorgó la habilidad de saltar dos veces. Esto es un poder necesario en todo metroidvania. Sin embargo, como el juego está lleno de memes, también nos dio una estatua Choozo sin poder alguno. Me encantan esos detalles.

Resulta que no había más nada en el árbol y tuvimos que regresar al desierto para adentrarnos en el Templo de la Guerra y aprender otras habilidades nuevas. Aquí empezaron a aparecer enemigos más difícil de vencer, pero por acá vamos mejorando tambien.

Este capítulo no estaría completo sin una pelea contra un jefe. En esta ocasión, fue contra Flame Face. Logramos darle una paliza al primer intento. El diseño de la batalla fue muy interesante. Los ataques a distancia fuera un problema. Nada que esquivar no pueda solucionar, pero solo cuando se hace a tiempo.

Espero que disfruten de esta tercera parte de Guacamelee. Estamos más cerca de llegar al final del juego. Los poderes nuevos están ayudando un montón para atravesar las áreas nuevas que nos encontramos.
