Bueno días colegas músicos y amantes de la música. Volvemos al escenario en el Hive Music Festival para traer otro aguinaldo venezolano. En esta ocasión es uno muy sencillo de la autoría de Otilio Galíndez. Lleva por nombre "Poncho Andino".

Un poncho es un tipo de abrigo que se utiliza en los lugares fríos. Es parecido a un mantel y tiene una sola abertura por dónde se pasa la cabeza. El resto de la pieza colgando encima de los hombros y el cuerpo. Es algo muy común de ver en los estados andinos de Venezuela y algunas partes de los llanos.

Este aguinaldo en particular me remontó a mi último año de primaria. Siempre había que participar en las actividades culturales del colegio y cantar música navideña era parte del asunto. Quizá este sea el único aguinaldo que he cantado con gusto en grupo. Ah, es que cantaba todo el salón. Me imagino que es una forma de evitar sentirse ridículo al hacerlo. Aparte, ayuda a no sentirse desafinado.

La versión más común que se puede escuchar por ahí es una de Simón Díaz dónde se omite la última estrofa. Es un aguinaldo corto pero no tan común de escuchar por ahí. Hace poco ví que apareció en una cuña navideña de una tienda a nivel nacional. Supongo que se está haciendo más conocido. Aquí tienen mi presentación en versión para cuatro solista. Hive Músico Festival | Week 12, Around 3 | Poncho Andino (Soloist Cover) 🎶🎵

Greetings my fellow musicians and music lovers. We are back at the stage of Hive Music Festival to bring about another Venezuelan Aguinaldo. Today, my piece to perform will be "Poncho Andino" a simple yet beautiful song by Venezuelan composer Otilio Galíndez.

A poncho is a type of clothing that looks like a sheet with a whole in the middle. You lit your head through that hole and the rest of the poncho rests on your shoulders covering your upper body. It's a very common thing in the Venezuelan Andes and some parts of the plains.

This particular song took me back to my last year of elementary school and the cultural activities during Christmas. It was one of the songs we sang during the festivities. I remember it fondly. Besides, signing on group has always been something cool as you avoid feeling ridiculous and out of tune.

The most common version of this song was recorded by Simón Díaz. He omits the last part of the lyrics. It isn't a very common song. However, I listened last Christmas on a commercial by a very big store that's taking over te country. I guess it becoming a popular one. Here you have my take on it. I hope you like my performance.
