Hello there, my fellow musicians and music lovers!

To close off my entries for this cycle of the Hive Music Festival, I've come with a very weird choice of song presented by my teacher. It's Delilah by Welsh singer Tom Jones. Until a few weeks ago, I've never listened to this song before. It's quite catchy though. So, I decided to learn it and had a fun time doing it.

During the whole studying, I wondered what I could do to add something else to the whole strumming and chop chords. So I went ahead and risked doing something I'm still very green at doing, percussion while playing. The techniques for doing this are different from the usual strums Cuatro Players usually do. However, it means using the strum guard of the instrument as a drum to add a different sound on certain parts of the beat.

It was challenging but really interesting. Maybe I'll finally start doing more of this in other covers. It's an important element in the technical repertoire of a soloist. That way, strumming stops being so one dimensional. Just a thing of adding depth to the rhythm. So, here's my version of this song.

    I hope you like it
