Hello there, my fellow musicians and music lovers!

Some musicians leave such a great artistic footprint in their countries that in times they are not given enough recognition. One of the reasons I wanted to learn to play Soloist Cuatro was to get into Onda Nueva. This is a genre that allegedly puts Joropo in the context of a city. Its creator, Aldemaro Romero, put a lot of influence from Bossa Nova and Jazz into it and thus, the genre was born.

Reading about the life of this Venezuelan Genius was a shock. He did so much during his life and achieved great feats, but history is kind of cruel and even when some artists have made homages in their discographies, it's not very often you can listen to one of Aldemaro's works in media like the radio or television.

A long time ago, a Double Bass teacher from El Sistema gave me a record of a former student of his, Gonzalo Teppa. This was an homage to Aldemaro that focused on the Double Bass as the main instrument. It's an amazing work. And the kind of innovative thing Romero loved to do.

After having my time to study one of the easier pieces of Aldemaro's composition (and that's not saying much since no piece of his is easy), here I come with a cover of De Repente. You might have heard a version of it made popular by Rafael "El Pollo" Brito and C4 Trio. However, I bet you haven't listened to this one.

    You're welcome

And here's my cover of this lovely song. I'm gonna try to learn some of the other pieces by this amazing musician! For the moment, here's the first one,

    I hope you like it!
