Mi reconocimiento a esas talentosas mujeres.
Welcome to my music blog, on March 8 International Women's Day was commemorated, a recognition of their struggles for gender equality, for participation in all areas of life. I feel grateful for my mother, she is a fighter and a worker. From her comes my artistic skills. From a very young age she participated in choral groups, and music is one of her favorite hobbies, she enjoys singing. Women have been an integral part of my musical training, I remember my first musical language classes with my teacher Karelis Canelón. I loved participating in her classes, she was innovative and applied very effective teaching methods. Then I had a teacher who played the drums and was a concert pianist. She was amazing, she had a very sweet voice. I enjoyed my music theory lessons, and polyrhythm with her. When I arrived at the University I met several incredible teachers, not only in the musical dimension, but also in the human aspect. My appreciation to those talented women.
Today I bring you a performance with the trumpet of «Dancing Queen», a musical piece by the Swedish group ABBA. This disco and pop song was composed by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson. This song is from 1975, however, at home we had cassettes and records with the classics of this group. The lyrics talk about a 17-year-old girl, a dance queen, who enjoys the moment, the rhythm and the right music. She left other aspects to them so that they interpret them as they wish. Something I like about this group is the way it is made up, by two men and two women. When I see the word ABBA I always remember the musical structure of Jazz, however, in this case, it is an acronym, they are the initials of the names of each member. I dedicate this song to all women, from the working mother, to those who continue to fight for a better world.
Ooh
You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that girl
Watch that scene
Digging the dancing queen
Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go
Where they play the right music
Getting in the swing
You come to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music
Everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance
You are the dancing queen
Young and sweet
Only seventeen
Dancing queen
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that girl
Watch that scene
Digging the dancing queen
You're a teaser, you turn 'em on
Leave 'em burning and then you're gone
Looking out for another
Anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance
You are the dancing queen
Young and sweet
Only seventeen
Dancing queen
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that girl
Watch that scene
Digging the dancing queen
Digging the dancing queen
