Vice City Customs is a feature that allows you to tune the base vehicles in GTA Vice City using a new game engine. The developers decided to call it ReVC (Re-engineered Vice City), since this new engine was obtained through the reverse engineering process applied to the Vice City source code that was recovered in recent years. This allows, among many things, to modify and add many more features to the game engine, giving modders a whole new universe of possibilities for this Rockstar Games installment.

Vice City Customs es una característica que permite tunear los vehículos base del Gta Vice city a través del uso de un nuevo Engine del juego el cual los desarrolladores decidieron llamar ReVC (Re-engineered Vice City), debido a que este nuevo Engine se obtuvo a través del proceso de ingeniería inversa que se le aplicó al código fuente del Vice City que se logró obtener en los últimos años, lo que permite entre muchas cosas poder modificar y agregar muchas más características al Engine del juego, dándole a los modders todo un nuevo universo de posibilidades en cuanto a esta entrega de Rockstar Games.

Technical Note: The official name of this mod that adds the ability to tune cars is Vice City Extended 2.6. It is also important to note that you only need the base game to enjoy this mod.

Nota Técnica: El nombre oficial de este mod que agrega la posibilidad de tunear los coches es: Vice City Extended 2.6. Además es importante destacar que para disfrutar de este mod solo necesitas tener el juego base.

3Short-Summary.

The first step is to choose the car you want to tune and head to any Pay 'n Spray in the city. Once there, drive your car into the small workshop located right next to the paint shop, as shown in the image above.

Lo primero es tomar el coche que deseemos y dirigirse hacia cualquier taller de pintura (Pay’n Spray) de la ciudad e ingresar con nuestro coche al pequeño taller que se encontrará justo al lado del taller de pintura, tal cual como se muestra en la imagen de arriba.

In my case, I decided to use one of my favorite Vice City cars, the mighty Phoenix. This American muscle car has a powerful V8 engine under the hood.

En mi caso decidí utilizar uno de los coches del Vice city que más me gustan, como lo es el caso del poderoso Phoenix, el cual es un coche de estilo musculoso americano con un muy poderoso V8 bajo el capó.

Once inside the workshop, a menu of options will appear indicating that you are in the Vice City Customs workshop. From this point on, you can start navigating through the multiple tuning options and begin modifying the appearance and performance of your car.

Ya dentro del taller se desplegará un menú de opciones en donde se indicará que estamos en el taller de Vice city customs. Entonces a partir de este punto podemos comenzar a movernos entre las múltiples opciones de tuneo y comenzar a modificar la apariencia y rendimiento de nuestro coche.

The first thing I decided to change on my Phoenix was the color. I applied a combination of metallic gray for the base color and black for the car's racing stripe. The mod offers you a wide range of colors to choose from, as well as the ability to paint details of the vehicle such as its racing stripes or vinyls :)

La primero que decidí cambiarle a mi Phoenix fue el color, aplicándole a este una combinación de Gris metalizado para el color base y color negro a la raya deportiva del coche. El mod te ofrece muchos colores entre los cuales escoger, además de poder pintar detalles del vehículo como sus líneas deportivas o vinilos :)

You can also modify the performance of your car in Vice City Customs. In my case, I decided to apply the first stage of engine upgrade, which costs $500 and slightly improves the car's top speed.

También puedes modificar el rendimiento de tu coche en Vice City Customs, por ejemplo en mi caso decidí aplicarle la primera etapa de mejora del motor del coche, la cual tiene un coste de 500$ y mejora ligeramente la velocidad de punta del coche.

Another feature I love about this mod is that it gives you the option to modify the color of your car's window tint, from a very light black to a quite dark black (my favorite). The ability to tint the windows of your car goes very well with a mafia game like Vice City.

Otra característica que me encanta de este mod es que te da la opción de modificar el color de los cristales de las ventanas del coche, desde un color negro muy tenue hasta un color negro bastante oscuro (mi favorito). Esto de poder oscurecer los cristales del auto va muy bien con lo que es un juego de mafiosos como Vice City.

Wow, something that I think adds a super gangster and sporty touch to our cars is the ability to lower their suspension. Just as you can see in the image above, for example, at level 4 of this type of modification, the car is quite close to the ground. However, for the Phoenix, it's not the most suitable considering its muscle V8 aesthetic, so I decided to apply it only at level 1 of this modification.

Uff y algo que me parece que le agrega un toque súper gánster y deportivo a nuestros coches es el de poder bajarles la suspensión, tal cual como puedes ver en la imagen superior, por ejemplo en el nivel 4 de este tipo de modificación el coche queda bastante pegado al suelo, pero para el Phoenix no es lo más adecuado teniendo en cuenta su estética de V8 musculoso, por lo que decidí aplicarle solo en nivel 1 de esta modificación.

Note: The best thing about this modification is that it has the same cost in all 4 levels, which is 500$.

Nota: Lo mejor de esta modificación es que en todos los 4 niveles tendrá el mismo coste, es decir 500$.

The modification options offered by Vice City Customs are truly impressive. It allows us to change the wheel model, as well as the color of the wheels, which greatly expands the possibilities for car customization.

Son realmente impresionantes todas las opciones de modificación que trae este Vice City Customs, ya que se nos permite cambiar el modelo delas ruedas, al igual que el color de las mismas, algo que expande mucho las posibilidades de personalización del coche.

In my case, I changed the wheel model and repainted them dark gray to match the base color of the Phoenix ;)

En mi caso cambié el modelo de las ruedas y las repinté de gris oscuro para que combinaran con el color base del Phoenix ;)

Spoilers are also included in the mod. Although I decided not to add any spoilers to my Phoenix V8 due to its muscular aesthetic, I wanted to show you how they look in the game.

Los Spoilers son algo que no escapan del mod, y aunque en mi caso debido a la estética musculosa de mi Phoenix V8 decidí no aplicarle ningún spoiler al coche, decidí mostrarles un poco como se ven los mismos dentro del juego.

Note: They are basically the same spoilers that can be found in the TransFender body shops in GTA San Andreas.

Nota: Básicamente son los mismos spoilers que podemos encontrar en los talleres transfenders del Gta San Andreas.

Finally, I decided to add a small air intake on the roof to enhance the car's sporty look. In addition to all the aforementioned modifications, you can also modify the car's brakes and install hydraulic suspension.

Por último decidí colocarle una pequeña toma de aire en el techo para aumentar la apariencia deportiva del coche. Además de todas las modificaciones antes mencionadas, también puedes modificar los frenos del coche y colocarle suspensión hidráulica.

The best thing about all of this is that both the modifications and the car do not break with the atmosphere of the game, since everything looks practically as if Rockstar Games had done it.

Lo mejor de todo esto es que tanto las modificaciones como el coche no rompen con la atmósfera del juego, ya que todo se ve prácticamente como si Rockstar Games lo hubiera hecho.
