Existió un campeón mundial que fue ignorado por todos, les hablo de Max Euwe, fue el encargado de destronar a Alekhine, pero, ha sido de esos y si no que el único que ha sido tildado de no merecer el título mundial por la sencilla razón de que no tenía el nivel requerido, pero, debo decir a su favor que Alekhine tomó su derrota de manera muy deportiva y efusiva, tanto asi, que, se levantó y dijo al público presente en el macht "Larga vida al nuevo campeón del mundo". A pesar que dos años después, Alekhine recuperaría su título de nuevo hasta su muerte en 1946, es triste que Euwe se recordado como el mejor presidente que ha tenido la FIDE que por sus hazañas en el tablero.
