¡Hola amigos de Hive Cuba!

Es un placer compartir con ustedes que el pasado 1 de noviembre la empresa donde trabajo, Palmares SA, cumplió 19 años. Quería aprovechar esta oportunidad para contarles sobre el emotivo evento que celebramos en conmemoración. Como fundador de esta empresa, siento un gran sentido de pertenencia, especialmente en estos tiempos difíciles marcados por el éxodo masivo de la fuerza laboral y los retos económicos que hemos enfrentado tras la lamentable pandemia del Covid-19 y la calamitosa situación económica.

Hello friends of Hive Cuba!

It is a pleasure to share with you that last November 1st the company where I work, Palmares SA, turned 19 years old. I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about the emotional event we celebrated in commemoration. As the founder of this company, I feel a great sense of belonging, especially in these difficult times marked by the massive exodus of the workforce and the economic challenges we have faced after the unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic and the calamitous economic situation.

Esta empresa es reconocida como una de las principales referencias dentro del sector gastronómico extrahotelero en Cuba. Contamos con varios restaurantes de renombre nacional e internacional, como Bodeguita del Medio, Floridita, Restaurante La Torre, Gato Tuerto, Tocororo, Tropicana y La Cecilia, entre otros. Además, tenemos el privilegio de contar con dos campos de golf en el país.

Aunque estos últimos años han sido sumamente difíciles, hemos hecho todo lo posible, con los limitados recursos que tenemos, para seguir siendo una fuente de ingresos para la economía del país. A pesar de las adversidades, no puedo dejar de representar a este sector que siempre ha dado el paso al frente ante cualquier contingencia.

This company is recognized as one of the main references within the extra-hotel gastronomic sector in Cuba. We have several nationally and internationally renowned restaurants, such as Bodeguita del Medio, Floridita, Restaurante La Torre, Gato Tuerto, Tocororo, Tropicana and La Cecilia, among others. In addition, we are privileged to have two golf courses in the country.

Although these last few years have been extremely difficult, we have done our best, with the limited resources we have, to continue to be a source of income for the country's economy. Despite the adversities, I cannot fail to represent this sector, which has always stepped forward in the face of any contingency.

El acto conmemorativo tuvo lugar en la instalaciones de La Cecilia, donde se reconoció la labor desarrollada y se homenajeó a algunos de nuestros trabajadores vanguardias en distintos territorios. En esta ocasión, nos fue entregada la Bandera de Proeza Laboral por segunda vez en los últimos tres años, un reconocimiento que nos enorgullece a todos y que demuestra el compromiso y dedicación de nuestro equipo.

The commemorative event took place at La Cecilia's facilities, where the work carried out was recognized and some of our vanguard workers in different territories were honored. On this occasion, we were awarded the Labor Prowess Flag for the second time in the last three years, a recognition that makes us all proud and demonstrates the commitment and dedication of our team.

Durante la celebración, también disfrutamos de una animada actividad cultural en la sala de fiestas más grande de nuestra sucursal. El grupo musical Arnaldo y su Talismán nos deleitó con su talento, lo cual personalmente disfruté mucho. Además, contamos con la participación de otros cantantes de música tradicional, quien nos brindaron un emotivo tributo interpretando piezas de la fallecida Celina González.

During the celebration, we also enjoyed a lively cultural activity in our branch's largest party room. The musical group Arnaldo y su Talismán delighted us with their talent, which I personally enjoyed very much. In addition, we had the participation of other traditional music singers, who gave us an emotional tribute interpreting pieces of the late Celina Gonzalez.

Para culminar el acto, nos ofrecieron un brindis acompañado de un pequeño bufé para todos los trabajadores. Tuvimos la oportunidad de recorrer las instalaciones, que fueron remodeladas recientemente y lucen realmente hermosas.

La ceremonia conmemorativa fue un momento especial y emotivo. Nos permitió reconocer la labor de los trabajadores y reafirmar nuestro compromiso con el sector turístico, a pesar de los retos a los que nos enfrentamos. Damos las gracias a todos los que han formado parte de nuestro viaje y esperamos seguir siendo una fuente de orgullo y prosperidad para el país. Hasta pronto !

At the end of the event, we were offered a toast accompanied by a small buffet for all the workers. We had the opportunity to tour the facilities, which were recently remodeled and look really beautiful.

The commemorative ceremony was a special and emotional moment. It allowed us to recognize the work of the workers and to reaffirm our commitment to the tourism sector, despite the challenges we face. We thank all those who have been part of our journey and look forward to continuing to be a source of pride and prosperity for the country. See you soon!
