Argentina - Our side at Iguazú Falls: walking in and on top of them, literally. 😀❣️

The Iguazú Falls are one of the destinations most chosen by tourists when they arrive in our country and this is completely justified: a place like this is worth visiting even if it means traveling thousands of kilometers to get here. It seems that nature never ceases to surprise us, as in this case where it occurred to him to put a gigantic waterfall in the middle of the jungle. And a landscape like this is not going to attract everyone's attention, including us Argentines, who take advantage of the whole year to go for a walk and cool off with its water and all the magic that surrounds it ❣️.

Las Cataratas del Iguazú son uno de los destinos más elegidos por los turistas cuando llegan a nuestro país y esto está completamente justificado: un lugar así merece la pena ser visitado aunque eso signifique viajar miles de kilómetros para llegar hasta acá. Parece que la naturaleza nunca deja de sorprendernos, como en este caso en el que se le ocurrió poner una gigantesca caída de agua en el medio de la selva. Y un paisaje así cómo no va a llamar la atención de todos, incluso de nosotros los argentinos, que aprovechamos todo el año para ir a pasear y a refrescarnos con su agua y toda la magia que las rodea ❣️.

After visiting the Brazilian side of Iguazú Falls for my birthday, the next day my friend and I went to the park on the Argentine side in Misiones Province. When you are in this place you have to dedicate a whole day to each of the parks to be able to enjoy them calmly and completely. In our case, we decided to leave the Argentine side for the second day because we had seen that the weather was going to be a little better, but it wasn't quite like that because it still rained a little 😅.

Después de visitar el lado brasilero de las cataratas del Iguazú por mi cumpleaños, al día siguiente mi amiga y yo fuimos al parque del lado argentino en la provincia de Misiones. Cuando estas en este lugar hay que dedicar un día entero a cada uno de los parques para poder disfrutarlos tranquilamente y por completo. En nuestro caso, decidimos dejar el lado argentino para el segundo día porque habíamos visto que el clima iba a estar un poco mejor, pero no fue del todo así porque igual llovía un poco 😅.

The entrance to the Iguazú National Park in June 2022 cost us 600 ARS (2.5 USD), a price about 5 times less than what we paid for the entrance to the park in Brazil. This price is more than affordable for everyone, so there are thousands of visitors every day. Within the park there are 3 trails to explore the falls and these can be done independently or with tour guides that the park has. In total, it takes about 5 hours to go through all of them, so it is recommended to go early to take advantage of the full day 😃.

La entrada al Parque Nacional Iguazú en Junio 2022 nos costó 600 ARS (2.5 USD), un precio como 5 veces menor a lo que pagamos por la entrada en el parque de Brasil. Este precio es más que accesible para todos, por lo que día a día hay miles de visitantes. Dentro del parque hay 3 senderos para recorrer las cataratas y estos se pueden hacer de manera independiente o con guías de turismo que tiene el parque. En total, se demoran unas 5 horas para recorrerlos todos, por lo que lo recomendado es ir temprano para aprovechar el día completo 😀.

The three main circuits that the park has are: Upper Circuit, Lower Circuit and Devil's Throat. In the Upper Circuit the walkways are above the falls, in the Lower Circuit they are below/in front and the Devil's Throat is the main fall of the Falls. Each route is unique and you should not miss any of them, hence the importance of going with plenty of time to walk through all of them 😃. The Iguazú Falls are distributed in 75% on the Argentine side and 25% on the Brazilian side, so the park on our side is much larger and has more walkways. However, you have to visit both parks, because from Brazil you can see the falls from the front in a panoramic way and from Argentina you are closer to them, even walking over them.

Los tres circuitos principales con los que cuenta el parque son: Circuito Superior, Circuito Inferior y Garganta del Diablo. En el Circuito Superior las pasarelas se encuentran sobre las cataratas, el en Circuito Inferior estan por debajo/enfrente y la Garganta del Diablo es la caída principal de las Cataratas. Cada recorrido es único y no hay que perderse ninguno, por eso la importancia de ir con mucho tiempo para caminar por todos ellos 😃. Las Cataratas del Iguazú se distribuyen en un 75% del lado Argentino y un 25% del lado brasilero, por lo que el parque de nuestro lado es mucho más grande y con más pasarelas. Sin embargo, hay que visitar ambos parques, porque desde Brasil se ven las cataratas desde el frente de modo panorámico y desde Argentina estas más cerca de ellas, incluso caminando por encima.

That day, like the day before, it had been raining a lot so the flow of the falls was extremely high. At first this scared us because they threatened to close the park due to the large amount of water, but luckily they opened it anyway, although in parts the river water was very close to the walkways. This was cool and terrifying in equal measure 😅.

Ese día, al igual que el día anterior, había estado lloviendo bastante por lo que el caudal de las cataratas estaba extremadamente crecido. En un primer momento esto nos asustó porque amenazaban con cerrar el parque debido a la gran cantidad de agua, pero por suerte igual lo abrieron, aunque por partes el agua del río estaba muy cerca de las pasarelas. Esto era genial y terrorífico en igual medida 😅.

The first tour we did was the Superior Circuit. From it you can see all the waterfalls from above and since we were with a guide, she told us the name of each one. Due to the rising river, the water looked brown instead of white and everyone looked more abundant than normal 😃. On top of that, it was drizzling a bit so it was impossible not to get a little wet.

El primer recorrido que hicimos fue el del Circuito Superior. Desde él se pueden ver todos los saltos de agua desde arriba y como nosotros íbamos con una guía, ella nos iba contando el nombre de cada uno. Debido a la crecida del río, el agua se veía marrón en lugar de blanca y todos se veían más abundantes que lo normal 😃. Además de eso, estaba lloviznando un poco así que era imposible no mojarse un poco.

After completing the tour in the Upper Circuit, we headed to the Lower Circuit. From these walkways you can see all the jumps from the bottom, so if we had hardly gotten wet before, this time we were not going to come out unscathed. The Iguazú Falls have an average height of 75 meters in total, and to see all that water fall from that high was really impressive and cool ❤️.

Después de completar el recorrido en el Circuito Superior, nos dirigimos al Circuito Inferior. Desde estas pasarelas se pueden ver todos los saltos desde la parte de abajo, así que si antes no nos habíamos mojado casi nada, esta vez no íbamos a salir ilesas. Las Cataratas del Iguazú tienen una altura promedio de 75 metros en total, y ver toda esa agua caer desde tan alto era realmente impresionante y genial ❤️.

Upon reaching the end of this tour we were able to see the most beautiful panoramic view from the Falls. From there you could see the Iguazú River and the entire waterfall, including part of the Devil's Throat. Unfortunately, this part was flooded by the rising river so we couldn't walk on those walkways, but this will always be an excuse to go back 😃.

Al llegar al final de este recorrido pudimos ver la vista panorámica más linda desde las Cataratas. Desde allí se podía ver el río Iguazú y toda la caída del agua, incluyendo parte de la Garganta del Diablo. Lamentablemente, esta parte si estaba inundada por la crecida del río así que no pudimos caminar por esas pasarelas, pero esto siempre será una excusa para volver a ir 😀.

When we finished doing everything we could do that day, the rain stopped and the sun began to come out. We still had several hours left in the day, so we took the opportunity to continue walking a little more and admire the falls. This ride was my big self birthday present this year and it was the best thing I could have done because I enjoyed it to the fullest. I will always be grateful for having the opportunity to make these beautiful trips and to be able to travel a bit of the beautiful territory that we have in Argentina. Cuando terminamos de hacer todo lo que podíamos hacer ese día, la lluvia cesó y empezó a salir el sol. Aún nos quedaban varias horas en el día, así que aprovechamos para seguir caminando un poco más y admirar las cataratas. Este paseo fue mi gran autoregalo de cumpleaños este año y fue lo mejor que pude haber hecho porque lo disfruté al máximo. Siempre voy a estar agradecida por tener la oportunidad de hacer estos viajes hermosos y de poder recorrer un poco del hermoso territorio que tenemos en Argentina.
