Hola amigos amantes del arte, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, el acto de inauguración de la exhibición del artista plástico venezolano Billy Spence, llevado a cabo en Bordes Café, ubicado en San Cristóbal.

Hello art lovers friends, today I want to share with you the opening of the exhibition of the Venezuelan artist Billy Spence, held at Bordes Café, located in San Cristobal.

La inauguración de la exposición fue aperturada con un performance de danza, llevado a cabo por la talentosa bailarina Michelle Rodríguez, quien por cierto es mi profesora de expresión corporal para teatro. A su vez, Billy Spence a su vez acompañaba los movimientos de Michelle, haciendo trazos sobre el piso y las paredes. Fue un performance con participación directa del artista.

The opening of the exhibition was opened with a dance performance by the talented dancer Michelle Rodriguez, who by the way is my teacher of body expression for theater. In turn, Billy Spence accompanied Michelle's movements, making strokes on the floor and walls. It was a performance with the direct participation of the artist.

Según palabras de Anderson Jaimes, antropólogo, este artista es un exponente de arte contemporáneo, expresión pictórica y performance con una dilatada trayectoria como artista plástico, que maneja un elemento de forma única, el cuerpo. Spence es también médico cirujano plástico por lo que se desenvuelve en una ciencia tan dura con la corporalidad como es la medicina, no expone cuerpos diseccionados, cortados de una manera estética, es un cuerpo que habla, que se expresa, se vale del color de las expresiones, es un cuerpo que sufre, que se alegra, que tiene otras bellezas y fealdades, el artista utiliza el cuerpo como lenguaje.

In the words of Anderson Jaimes, anthropologist, this artist is an exponent of contemporary art, pictorial expression and performance with a long career as a plastic artist, who handles an element in a unique way, the body. Spence is also a plastic surgeon, which is why he works in a science as hard on corporeality as medicine, he does not exhibit dissected bodies, cut in an esthetic way, it is a body that speaks, that expresses itself, uses the color of the expressions, it is a body that suffers, that is happy, that has other beauties and uglinesses, the artist uses the body as a language.

Para esta exhibición fueron seleccionadas 27 obras de 45. Pude observar como el elemento humano es la base fundamental de esta exposición, el cuerpo, presentado de una manera un poco abstracta y distorsionada. Su trazos son muy particulares así como los colores que utiliza. En esta selección de obras pude observar según mi apreciación un humano que sufre, que se encuentra en situación precaria, tal vez sin alimenta, tal vez sin vivienda, en situación de calle, expresiones que demuestran desamparo y preocupación, esta exhibición me pareció oscura en ese sentido, hay mucha tristeza en los personajes que el artista presenta.

I was able to observe how the human element is the fundamental basis of this exhibition, the body, presented in a somewhat abstract and distorted way. His strokes are very particular as well as the colors he uses. In this selection of works I could observe, according to my appreciation, a suffering human being, who is in a precarious situation, perhaps without food, perhaps without housing, in a street situation, expressions that show helplessness and concern, this exhibition seemed dark to me in that sense, there is a lot of sadness in the characters that the artist presents.

Respecto a los colores que utilizan, el color está presente, están trabajados de tal forma que en combinación con colores grises generan esa sensación, de tristeza y una vida sin color para estos personajes. Aquí el color no es sinónimo de alegría.

Regarding the colors they use, color is present, they are worked in such a way that in combination with gray colors generate that feeling of sadness and a life without color for these characters. Here color is not synonymous with joy.
