Letra
Un día estuvo en mi cuarto
un oscuro grillito,
la noche era fría
y el pobre grillito
cantaba muy alto
su triste canción.
Yo soy un grillito
y tengo catarro.
La noche está fría
y no tengo ni un jarro
en donde yo pueda
tomarme un café.
Detrás de una puerta
me duermo empolvado
y así es que amanezco
todo acatarrado
hasta que una escoba
me viene a sacar.
Yo sentí mucha pena
de ese pobre grillito
que estaba llorando
siendo tan chiquito
y del suelo lo alcé,
y en mi almohada
dormí yo con él.

Friendly greetings dear Hivers, today I am much happier to share with you in this beautiful music community as I had the honor to choose the theme for this week. I didn't have to think long to decide that it would be a theme related to children's music and finally the theme is "Music for Kids". There are several reasons why I chose this thematic line, first I believe that children are pure musical power, they understand music in a phenomenal way, because sound is one of the forms of knowledge that they begin to acquire from birth, without needing to know words or have a constructed imaginary of their reality. That is why when you play music to a very young child they automatically react, if they are a little older they dance, because it is a natural language for them.
Another reason is that the children's genre is one of my favorites, children's music songs are incredible creations both musically and in their lyrics. For this last reason I brought you a very special song for me, by the great Teresita Fernandez, one of the greatest exponents of children's music in our continent. It is "El grillito acatarrado", a song that besides being beautiful and tender even in the title, Teresita herself in one of her live presentations stated that this song was a tribute to Francisco Gabilondo Soler, the mythical Cri Cri.
I hope you enjoy this instrumental version that I have made with much affection, I will also leave you the lyrics and song interpreted by the beautiful Lubia Maria Hevia, another of the musical wonders of Cuba. I bid you farewell until next time.
Lyrics
One day there was in my room
a dark little cricket,
the night was cold
and the poor little cricket
was singing loudly
his sad song.
I am a little cricket
and I have a cold.
The night is cold
and I don't have a jug
where I can
drink a cup of coffee.
Behind a door
I fall asleep dusty
and that's how I wake up
all crawling
until a broom
comes to take me out.
I felt very sorry
for that poor little cricket
who was crying
being so small
and I picked it up from the ground,
and on my pillow
I slept with him.
