o si olvidar sería mejor destino,
si es acaso tu ausencia el mejor sino
y que la dicha plena sea no verte.
No sé si tu presencia sea una suerte
que acompaña la senda en que camino
o si se trata de un grave desatino
cobijarme con tu sombra de muerte.
Enloquezco de tanta incertidumbre
mientras voy discerniendo el mal y el bien,
que colma mi vida de pesadumbre.
Y me convierto en mi propio rehén
porque quererte es del dolor, la cumbre
pero el no quererte, hiere también.

Sometimes I wonder if loving you
or if forgetting would be a better destiny,
if perhaps your absence is the best fate
and that the full happiness is not to see you.
I don't know if your presence is a luck
that accompanies the path on which I walk
or if it is a serious blunder
to shelter me with your shadow of death.

And I become my own hostage
