Hasta última hora estaba indeciso si iba a poder hacer este video de hoy, pues quería tratar el tema de los testigos en Hive y combinar el tema con el anuncio que hicimos el 1° de octubre, de que @la-colmena se convirtió en testigo. Pero el inicio fue muy accidentado y tuvimos tantos problemas con el nodo, que tuve que deshabilitarlo. Por supuesto, con ese cuadro no se veía bien hacer este video. Pero afortunadamente el día 4, el nodo se sincronizó y pudimos habilitarlo nuevamente y ya empezó a producir los bloques. A la hora que estoy escribiendo este texto, ya llevamos dos bloques.

¡Así que ahora sí puedo hablar de los testigos!

Until the last minute I was undecided if I was going to be able to do this video today, as I wanted to address the topic of witnesses in Hive and combine the topic with the announcement we made on October 1st, that @la-colmena became a witness. But the start was very bumpy and we had so many problems with the node, that I had to disable it. Of course, with that frame it didn't look good to make this video. But fortunately on day 4, the node was synchronized and we were able to enable it again and it started producing the blocks. At the time I am writing this text, we have already produced two blocks.

So now I can talk about the witnesses!

En este vlog de hoy, mi objetivo es explicar la labor que cumplen los testigos. Entendiendo quee estos son nodos, servidores, es decir, computadoras, que están conectadas por todo el mundo y que almacenan de manera conjunta bloques de información encriptada. En otras palabras podríamos decir que se trata de una gran base de datos repartida entre muchas computadoras.

En el video también toco el tema de la importancia que tienen los testigos como garantes de la plataforma y de la importancia que tiene la correcta escogencia de los testigos que votamos, ya que con nuestros votos, en forma de Hive Power o HP, es que los hacemos subir en el ranking de testigos y mientras más ascienden, tiene más poder de decisión acerca del futuro de la plataforma y generan muchos más ingresos y somos nosotros, con ese voto, quienes decidimos si lo están usando bien o mal, y si merecen estar en el top.

Para quienes no tienen el tiempo o la disponibilidad, explico también la manera de seleccionar un Proxy, que básicamente consiste en seleccionar alguien de tu confianza, para que ejerza los votos por ti.

Pero sobre todo, hago énfasis en la necesidad de tomar decisiones muy bien pensadas para votar a los testigos, pues se trata de un asunto de vital importancia y no debe ser tomado a la ligera.

Destaco también en el video la importancia que tiene el hecho de que en este momento haya en la plataforma cuatro testigos hispanos, @Cervantes, que es el testigo más aniguo, pues viene de la plataforma annterior y fue el precursor. A principios de este año arrancó el nodo de @Aliento, impulsado por el mexicano @eddiespino y que rápidamente ascendió, gracias al maravilloso apoyo principalmente de @theycallmedan. Por una publicación que hizo Aliento, me enteré que también @empo.witness entra en este lote, ya que quien lo lleva es el español @empoderat. Y a este grupo se suma ahora también @la-colmena, liderizado por venezolanos.

In today's vlog, my goal is to explain the work of the witnesses.
