Si hay algo de lo que estoy seguro es que nadie es perfecto en este mundo. Todos cometemos errores, e incluso poseemos cosas que no nos agradan de nosotros mismos y de los demás. Ahora el concepto de belleza y perfección ha cambiado en cada época, lo que antes se consideraba bello y estético, ahora no lo es y viceversa. La perfección puede ser un estereotipo que dependerá de cada cultura, y de como la humanidad lo observe. Tanto en la música como en las diferentes expresiones de arte se han enfocado en alcanzar la perfección. Alguien perfecto puede ser aquella persona que reúne una serie de requisitos y cualidades que distingue de los demás. Aunque nadie es perfecto, cada uno tiene el potencial de ser mejor. Y no hablo del aspecto físico. Se trata de integridad, rectitud, disciplina y de diferentes atributos que constituyen el ideal de cada sociedad. Tengo la firme creencia de que solo Dios es perfecto, y de que cada uno de nosotros es perfecto en potencial. Ahora, cada uno tiene su ideal, ya sea alguien que admiran o algo que desean llegar a ser.

If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that no one is perfect in this world. We all make mistakes and even have things we don't like about ourselves and others. Now the concept of beauty and perfection has changed in each era, what was previously considered beautiful and aesthetic, now is not, and vice versa. Perfection can be a stereotype that will depend on each culture, and on how humanity observes it. Both in music and in the different expressions of art they have focused on achieving perfection. Someone perfect can be that person who meets a series of requirements and qualities that distinguishes him from others. Although no one is perfect, everyone has the potential to be better. And I'm not talking about the physical aspect. It is about integrity, rectitude, discipline, and different attributes that constitute the ideal of each society. I firmly believe that only God is perfect and that each one of us is perfect in potential. Now, each one has an ideal of him, whether it is someone they admire or something they wish to become.

Compararse con los demás, incluso tratar de competir contra otros es un modelo que causa frustración. Cada persona es diferente y su proceso para alcanzar su potencial es diferente. También hay que considerar que vivimos en un mundo desigual, donde no todos tienen las mismas oportunidades. Nos encontramos en un barco donde algunos reman hacia la igualdad de oportunidades y otros compiten. La competencia genera un impulso hacia el éxito y es necesaria. Lo mejor, es fijarse un estándar y esforzarse por ir paso a paso hasta el logro de las metas.

Comparing yourself to others, even trying to compete against others is a pattern that causes frustration. Every person is different and their process to reaching their potential is different. We must also consider that we live in an unequal world, where not everyone has the same opportunities. We are in a boat where some row towards equal opportunities and others compete. Competition creates a drive for success and is necessary. The best thing is to set a standard and strive to go step by step until the achievement of the goals.

Hoy les traigo mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Perfect», una balada pop compuesta por Ed Sheeran. Estuve practicándola varios días con el fin de que disminuir las equivocaciones en el momento de la grabación. Mi versión favorita es cuando Ed hace dueto con Beyoncé. La canción habla de encontrar el amor al conseguir a una chica que reúne algunas características que la hacen perfecta. Pienso que, en este caso, se puede decir que la perfección es complementación. El amor hace posible ver a las personas no solo como son, sino como lo que pueden llegar a ser. Espero disfruten de mi versión.

Today I bring you my trumpet performance of "Perfect", a pop ballad composed by Ed Sheeran. I was practicing it for several days to reduce the mistakes at the time of recording. My favorite version is when Ed duets with Beyoncé. The song talks about finding love by getting a girl who has some characteristics that make her perfect.
