Fue cantada por primera vez por Michael Dees como parte de la banda sonora de la película The Happy Ending. Mi versión favorita es la de Barbra Streisand. El título de la canción es una pregunta interesante y probablemente muchas personas se la han hecho. Puede que la hayamos hecho en el trabajo, en los estudios, en una relación con otras personas. Hello everyone, it is a pleasure for me to share my talents and reflections. Today I present to you my trumpet interpretation of “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?”, the song was composed by Michel Legrand with lyrics by Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman. It was first sung by Michael Dees as part of the soundtrack for the film The Happy Ending. My favorite version is the one by Barbra Streisand. The title of the song is an interesting question and probably many people have asked it. We may have done it at work, in studies, or in a relationship with other people. Some behaviors can be beneficial, and others destructive. This question makes us evaluate the pros and cons of our decisions.

Cuando éramos niños, mi padre nos enseñó a jugar Ajedrez. Mi padre se había dedicado en su juventud a jugar este deporte ciencia, y deseaba que sus hijos aprendieran. Siendo el mayor de los hermanos, yo aprendí primero y luego yo enseñé a mi hermano. Cada uno tomo sus decisiones, mi hermano empezó a jugar futbol, y yo me dediqué a la música. Mi hermano actualmente juega a nivel profesional y eso le ha ayudado a relacionarse con muchas personas inteligentes y capaces. En el Ajedrez cada jugada es vital, pienso que cada error se paga caro. Tus decisiones influyen en los resultados. En ocasiones me encontré en callejones sin salidas, y solo me quedaba esperar que mi adversario cometiera un error. Siendo este un juego de estrategias, uno no puede improvisar. La vida es igual, algunas decisiones son importantes, y otras son triviales y sin importancia. Uno no puede andar en la vida sin un plan, e incluso sin respaldo. Cuando algo no tiene éxito, puede causar frustración, enojo, tristezas. El miedo puede detenerte y hacer que no progreses. Siempre hay que reflexionar sobre si lo que estamos haciendo nos conducirá al éxito y nos hará felices. Recuerdo que en la Universidad vi a personas rendirse y darse cuenta de que lo que estaban haciendo no era para ellos, imagínense darse cuenta de eso en el 9.º semestre. No hay nada mejor que hacer lo que uno ama, pero para descubrirlo, uno debe preguntarse si verdaderamente estás dispuesto a hacerlo por el resto de tu vida.

When we were children, my father taught us to play Chess. My father had dedicated himself in his youth to playing this science sport, and he wanted his children to learn. Being the eldest of the brothers, I learned first, and then I taught my brother. Each one made his own decisions, my brother started playing soccer, and I dedicated myself to music. My brother currently plays professionally and it has helped him associate with many smart and capable people. In Chess each move is vital, I think that each error is paid dearly. Your decisions influence the results. Sometimes I found myself at dead ends, and I only had to wait for my opponent to make a mistake. This being a strategy game, one cannot improvise. Life is the same, some decisions are important, and others are trivial and unimportant. You can't go through life without a plan, and even without backup. When something is not successful, it can cause frustration, anger, and sadness. Fear can hold you back and keep you from progressing. We always have to reflect on whether what we are doing will lead us to success and make us happy. I remember in college I saw people give up and realize that what they were doing was not for them, imagine realizing that in the 9th semester. There is nothing better than doing what you love, but to find out, you have to ask yourself if you are really willing to do it for the rest of your life.
