Hay palabras que dejan una huella en nuestras vidas, una palabra bondadosa llena de gratitud y de elogio puede influir positivamente. Todos deseamos que se nos tome en cuenta, que nos digan que somos importantes y valiosos. Pienso que las palabras te amo, te perdono, y te entiendo abren puertas en los corazones de las personas. Es difícil defenderse cuando dicen algo bueno de uno. Así como hay palabras que influyen para bien, hay palabras que dejan profundas heridas. Recientemente en mis clases de diseño tenemos que hacer críticas de los trabajos realizados por nuestros compañeros. Estas palabras tienen reglas. Debemos evaluar a las personas positivamente, sin cometer abusos. Primero empezamos hablando de las cosas buenas que tiene su trabajo y luego hablamos de las cosas que deben mejorar. Fíjense que no hablamos de cosas malas, sino de cosas que debemos mejorar. Las palabras pueden ir acompañadas de acciones. Esos detalles hacen que nuestras palabras tengan mayor fuerza.

Some words leave a mark on our lives, a kind word full of gratitude and praise can have a positive influence. We all want to be taken into account, to be told that we are important and valuable. I think the words I love you, I forgive you, and I understand you open doors in people's hearts. It's hard to defend yourself when someone says something nice about you. Just as there are words that influence for good, there are words that leave deep wounds. Recently in my design classes, we have to critique the work done by our classmates. These words have rules. We must evaluate people positively, without committing abuses. First, we start by talking about the good things about your work and then we talk about the things that need to be improved. Note that we are not talking about bad things, but about things that we must improve. Words can be accompanied by actions. Those details make our words have greater force.

El Silencio en la música también es música. El silencio también tiene una poderosa influencia y dice mucho. El silencio nos ayuda a ser prudentes en nuestras palabras, en pensar lo que vamos a decir. En algunos casos no hay palabras que puedan expresar y compensar la muerte de un ser querido, a veces la mejor palabra es estar al lado de alguien en una situación difícil, incluso un abrazo dice mucho. Hoy les traigo mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Fly me to the Moon» que originalmente se llamaba "In Other Words". Esta canción fue escrita por el escritor y compositor estadounidense Bart Howard en 1954. Este tema es un estándar del jazz y es una de las canciones donde las palabras tienen un poderoso significado. De las cosas que me gusta de la canción es que la canción nos explica en otras palabras que significa literalmente Llevame volando a la luna. En su letra encontramos la interpretación y traducción literal de una poesía.
