UNA RUTA FUERA DE LO NORMAL / A RIDE OUT OF THE ORDINARY ESP/ENG

Hola, amigos de Hive. Hoy les contaré sobre la última ruta que hice con mi grupo de ciclismo: Ruta Anare – Chuspa (ida y vuelta). La ruta que decidimos hacer recorre toda la costa guaireña, iniciando en el pueblo de Anare, con la meta de llegar al último pueblo de la costa, Chuspa, y regresar rondando de nuevo al punto de partida.

Hello, Hive's friends. Today I will tell you about the last ride I did with my cycling team: Anare - Chuspa route (round trip). The route we decided to do goes all along the coast of La Guaira, starting in the town of Anare, with the goal of reaching the last town of La Costa, Chuspa, and returning back to the starting point.

Debido a la exigencia de la ruta y para no desperdiciar ni un segundo, llegamos a las 5:30 de la mañana al centro del estado La Guaira, en Maiquetía, ahí montamos nuestras bicicletas en un camión y partimos rumbo al pueblo de Anare, un pueblo pequeño a orillas del mar donde inició nuestro recorrido en bicicleta. Al salir recorrimos unos 9 Km planos bordeando el mar hasta llegar a la ciudad vacacional Los Caracas, el último pueblo que hay antes de iniciar el que sería el verdadero reto, las montañas inclementes de La Costa, ahí encontramos un nuevo amigo que decidió aventurarse y hacer la ruta con nosotros.

Due to the difficulty of the route and in order not to waste a single second, we arrived at 5:30 in the morning at the center of the state "La Guaira", in Maiquetia. There we got our bikes on a truck and left for the town of Anare, a small town by the sea where our bike trip began. When we arrived, we rode about 9 km of flat read along the sea until we reached the "Ciudad Vacacional Los Caracas", the last town before starting what would be the real challenge, the inclement mountains of La Costa. There we found a new friend who decided to venture out and do the route with us.

La salida de Los Caracas tuvo un poco de exigencia, con una subida bastante inclinada, pero debo admitir que aún estábamos frescos y con mucho ánimo. Sin embargo, desde la cima pudimos apreciar la montaña rusa que nos faltaba atravesar.

The start from Los Caracas was a bit demanding, with a fairly steep climb; but I must admit that we were still fresh and in high spirits. However, from the top we could appreciate the roller coaster we had yet to go through.

Luego de recorrer un área casi completamente despejada que nos mostraba el mar, pasamos el pueblo de Quebrada Seca y nos adentramos en una zona montañosa con tramos llenos de tanta vegetación que se asemejaba a una selva, donde nos topamos con una de las subidas más exigentes de toda la ruta, llamada El Mamonal. Aunque sufrimos mucho durante esta subida, luego pudimos disfrutar varias bajadas antes de llegar al pueblo de Osma. Desde ahí el camino estuvo lleno de subidas y bajadas constantes, con un clima muy caluroso debido al sol agotador y a la falta de brisa en algunas zonas.

After riding through an almost completely clear area that showed us the sea, we passed the town of "Quebrada Seca" and entered a mountainous area with stretches full of so much vegetation that it resembled a jungle, where we came across one of the most demanding climbs of the entire route, called "El Mamonal". Although we suffered a lot during this climb, we were able to enjoy several descents before reaching the town of Osma. From there the road was full of constant climbs and descents, with a very hot weather due to the exhausting sun and lack of wind in some areas.

Así continuó nuestro recorrido, pasando el pueblito de Oritapo hasta llegar al siguiente pueblo, Todasana, a partir de ahí la ruta se hizo un poco menos exigente y volvimos estar a la par del mar, con una vista abierta de la playa y una vía plana hasta llegar al pueblo de Urama.

Al llegar descansamos un poco para tomar fuerzas antes de adentrarnos nuevamente a otra montaña llena de subidas y bajadas que nos llevaron a pasar cerca de un pueblo conocido como “La Sabana”. De ahí en adelante la ruta fue más constate, con menos inclinación y con muchos tramos planos que nos ayudaron a recuperarnos para llegar al pueblo de Caruao, a orillas del mar.

When we arrived there, we rested for a while to get our strength back before entering another mountain full of climbs and descents that led us to pass near a town known as "La Sabana". From then on the route was more consistent, with less inclination and with many flat sections that helped us to recover before reaching the seaside town of Caruao.

Después de estar frente al mar unos minutos y tomar algunas fotos, volvimos a nuestro recorrido hacia las duras montañas, con la mente en terminar nuestro último tramo para llegar a Chuspa, no sin antes refrescarnos un poco en un río; pero solo de pasada, pues aún nos quedaba camino por recorrer.

After enjoying the view of the sea a few minutes and taking some pictures, we returned to our journey towards the hard mountains, with the purpose of finishing our last stretch to reach "Chuspa"; but not before refreshing ourselves a little in a river, but only a little while, because we still had a long way to go.

Finalmente, después de varios kilómetros bajo el sol y luego de muchas subidas, llegamos al pueblo de Chuspa, nuestra meta.
Ya en Chuspa pudimos sentir la felicidad de llegar a nuestro primer objetivo y pudimos relajarnos y disfrutar de un almuerzo a escasos metros del mar. Ahí nos quedamos un par de hora mientras nos hidratábamos y reponíamos todo el esfuerzo que habíamos agotado durante la ruta…

Finally, after several kilometers under the sun and after many climbs, we arrived at the town of Chuspa, our goal. Already in "Chuspa" we could feel the happiness of reaching our first goal and we could relax and enjoy a lunch in front of the sea. There we stayed for a couple of hours while we hydrated and recovered all the effort that we had spent during the route...

Sin embargo, no podíamos olvidar que debíamos rehacer el mismo camino de regreso, así que luego del merecido descanso, montamos nuestras bicicletas y nos despedimos de ese lindo pueblito.

However, we could not forget that we had to make the same way back, so after a deserved rest, we got on our bikes and said goodbye to that pretty little village.

En el camino de regreso hicimos nuestra primera parada en un río donde pudimos disfrutar del agua caliente y del agua fría, pues precisamente en ese punto en el que nos encontrábamos se unían dos ríos con temperaturas totalmente diferentes. Ese baño nos ayudó a relajar un poco los músculos y a prepararnos para afrontar lo que nos esperaba. Casi a las 5 de la tarde partimos hacia nuestro destino y en el camino nos paramos unos minutos en una posada en la Sabana, para luego continuar el recorrido.

On the way back we made our first stop at a river where we could enjoy the hot and cold water, because precisely at that point where we were, two rivers with totally different temperatures joined. This bath helped us to relax our muscles a little and prepared us to face what awaited us. Almost at 5 pm we left for our destination and on the way we stopped for a few minutes at a lodge in "La Sabana", and then we continued our journey.

Aunque ya sabíamos lo que nos esperaba, las subidas parecían aún más inquebrantables y eternas, y las bajadas más difíciles, pues ya estaba oscureciendo y la vía no tenía iluminación. Sin embargo, después de todo el esfuerzo regresamos sanos y salvos al pueblo de Los Caracas y desde ahí vimos esta gran travesía alcanzada, solo nos quedaba recorrer los 9 Km planos hasta Anare para completar los 110 Km de la ruta más exigente que me ha tocado recorrer. Al llegar a Anare, un poco antes de las 9 de la noche, nos estaba esperando el camión que nos llevaría a nuestras casas para dar por finalizada toda esta aventura.

Although we already knew what awaited us, the climbs seemed even more unbreakable and endless, and the descents more challenging, because it was already getting dark and the road had no lighting. However, after all the effort, we returned safe to the town of Los Caracas and from there we saw this great journey achieved, we only had to ride the 9 km of flat road to "Anare" to complete the 110 km of the most demanding route I have ever ridden. When we arrived at "Anare", a little before 9 pm, the truck was waiting for us to take us home and end this adventure.
