Greetings, Hive Open Mic family! First of all I wish you a wonderful and blessed week, full of good vibes. It's as always an immense pleasure to accompany you in this musical showcase. We are already in week 179 with the theme Urban Music.

Many may consider that urban music is based mainly on rhythms such as rap and Hip Hop, however for me urban music is any rhythm that permeates the everyday life of people, that speaks of the day to day and with which we can feel identified at any given time. Although my musical style is more inclined to rock, pop and ballads, I wanted to leave my participation this week.

I remember this song from my adolescence and it was very popular among young people; although it was not necessarily one of my favorites, with the years one learns to see music with greater breadth. It's Genio Atrapado (Genie in a Bottle) by American Pop, R&B and Soul singer Christina Aguilera, as part of her Spanish album titled Mi Reflejo, released in 2000.

¡Saludos, familia de Hive Open Mic! Ante todo deseo que tengan una maravillosa y bendecida semana, llena de buenas vibras. Es como siempre un placer inmenso acompañarlos en esta vitrina musical. Ya estamos en la semana 179 con la temática Música Urbana.

Muchos pueden considerar que la música urbana se basa principalmente en ritmos como el rap y el Hip Hop, sin embargo para mí la música urbana es cualquier ritmo que cale en la cotidianidad de las personas, que hable del día a día y con la cual nos podemos sentir identificados en un momento dado. Si bien mi estilo musical se inclina más al rock, pop y baladas quise dejar mi participación esta semana.

Esta canción la recuerdo de la adolescencia y estaba muy de moda entre los jóvenes; aunque no era necesariamente de mis favoritas, con los años uno aprende a ver la música con mayor amplitud. Se trata de Genio Atrapado de la cantante de Pop, R&B y Soul estadounidense Christina Aguilera, como parte de su álbum en español titulado Mi Reflejo, publicado en el año 2000.
