El FC Barcelona Femení se han proclamado campeonas de la actual temporada de la UEFA Women's Champions League al derrotar al VfL Wolfsburgo en la final disputada en el Phillips Stadium de Eindhoven; una emocionante final digna de este torneo en dónde el club catalán al practicar un fútbol más efectivo pudo dar vuelta a un resultado adverso de dos goles en contra y así conseguir su segunda Champions League en su historia, recordemos que la disputada en esta temporada, es la cuarta final consecutiva.

Justamente con la lesión de Alexia, el club blaugrana tuvo, no una sino, muchas jugadoras que dieron un paso adelante para tomar el liderazgo para que este equipo no perdiera el camino de las victorias; jugadoras como: Caroline Graham Hansen, Fridolina Rolfö, Patri Guijarro, "Mapi" León y la que considero la mejor jugadora de la temporada, Aitana Bonmati; todas ellas junto a otras muy jóvenes jugadoras fueron fundamental para dominar el fútbol en España y ahora en Europa, no hay duda que en esta oportunidad fueron más equipo que en años anteriores.

La final fue bastante difícil y fue por la contundencia del Wolfsburgo en el primer tiempo, eso trajo frustración a aficionados y parte del cuerpo técnico que no escondían la molestia por cómo estaban perdiendo la final cuando notoriamente el equipo estaba bien en crear ocasiones, pero tanto en las transiciones defensivas y en anotar goles, mostraron deficiencias y por eso terminaron el primer tiempo con dos goles en contra, un resultado que hizo recordar la dura derrota contra el Lyon la pasada temporada, pero en el segundo tiempo, la historia sería diferente y junto al buen juego del equipo culé, le acompaño un mejor ataque y mejor defensa y eso bastó para que el FC Barcelona Femení obtuviera su segundo título de la UEFA Women's Champions League. Esta fue una final muy emocionante, en realidad toda la fase eliminatoria lo fue y es que al tener la oportunidad y facilidad de ver muchos de los encuentros disputados me hizo pensar que en esta temporada de la UWCL, nuevamente se demuestra el potencial del fútbol femenino y espero que sea un buen preámbulo para lo que será el próximo Mundial de Fútbol a disputarse en Australia y Nueva Zelanda entre los meses de julio y agosto.
