Hola mi gente bonita de esta linda comunidad @hivesucre. En esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes mis apreciados hivers Sucre y con la comunidad de #Hive en general de las tradiciones de mi estado Sucre y específicamente en la ciudad de Cumaná donde actualmente vivo y trabajo.

Hello my beautiful people of this beautiful community @hivesucre. In this opportunity I want to share with you my appreciated Sucre hivers and with the #Hive community in general of the traditions of my state Sucre and specifically in the city of Cumaná where I currently live and work.

En el mes de mayo se celebra el Velorio de la Cruz de Mayo. Y en los planteles educativos se realiza esta festividad. Donde los alumnos intervienen cantando galerones, bailando joropo y lo más resaltante de esta celebración es la bajada y la subida de la Cruz de Mayo. Esta celebración es de origen cristiano y se remonta desde la conquista de los españoles. Celebrándose el 3 de mayo. Este acto se hace como agradecimiento a la madre tierra ya que el mes de mayo representa la naturaleza y es como símbolo del mes de la cosecha y la lluvia. Donde se celebra cantándole galerones alusivos a la cruz, haciéndole ofrendas, con la finalidad de rendirle tributo de forma espiritual y de mucha fe para que nos proteja durante el resto del año. Todo va a depender de la región del país donde se le haga la festividad.

In the month of May, the Velorio de la Cruz de Mayo is celebrated. And in the educational institutions this festivity takes place. Where students take part singing galerones, dancing joropo and the highlight of this celebration is the descent and ascent of the Cross of May. This celebration is of Christian origin and dates back to the Spanish conquest. It is celebrated on May 3rd. La festividad de la Cruz de Mayo representa una tradición de fe que todos los que la veneran especialmente en el estado Sucre . En la escuela donde laboro no podía pasar por desapercibida esta celebración. Ya que tiene más de 40 años celebrándose. Por algunos inconvenientes no se pudo realizar en los comienzo del mes de mayo que es cuando se celebra. Lo importante fue que pudimos lograr hacer esta linda y espiritual festividad. Ese día sacamos a los alumnos al patio central para que disfrutaran de tan bonito evento.

The festivity of the Cross of May represents a tradition of faith that all those who venerate it especially in the state of Sucre. In the school where I work, this celebration could not go unnoticed. It has been celebrated for more than 40 years. Due to some inconveniences it could not take place at the beginning of the month of May, which is when it is celebrated. The important thing was that we were able to make this beautiful and spiritual festivity. That day we took the students out to the central patio to enjoy such a beautiful event.

La confección y decoración de la Cruz fue realizada por el personal de cultura que son los encargados de realizar los eventos en la institución. La Cruz fue adornada por papel crepé y la decoraron con flores hechas de papel. La decoración y el escenario donde estaba la Cruz quedó estupenda. Algunas frutas y flores adornaron el escenario donde estaba la Cruz.

The making and decoration of the cross was done by the cultural staff who are in charge of the events at the institution. The cross was adorned with crepe paper and decorated with paper flowers. La bajada de la Cruz comenzó con un baile el cual fue ensayado por los alumnos elegidos para realizarlos, son pasos adelante, pasos atrás, y van de un lado a otro. Una vez que se bajo la Cruz. Un grupo de niños bailo un joropo oriental. El cual estuvo muy bien dirigido por la profesora de danza.

Las galorenistas no podían faltar dos niñas de la institución y una invitada especial que las acompañaba un cuatrista para entonar los hermosos galerones. Las niñas fueron ensayadas con antelación. Es de resaltar que estas niñas tienen ese potencial para entonar galerones. La alumna más pequeña apenas tiene 7 años de edad.

The galorenistas could not miss two girls from the institution and a special guest who accompanied them with a cuatrista to sing the beautiful galerones. The girls were rehearsed in advance. It is noteworthy that these girls have the potential to sing galerones. The youngest student is only 7 years old.

Y para finalizar se culminó con la subida de la Cruz es decir durante la celebración se realiza al comienzo la bajada de la Cruz y luego se realiza la subida al final de la festividad. El evento estuvo muy lindo los niños lo disfrutaron muchísimo. Esta celebración es parte de nuestras tradiciones y cada año la celebramos. Hasta una próxima publicación.
