AFRITUNES WEEK 73:JUST TWO CHORDS SONG: 1 MILLI BY DAVIDO|dont miss the acoustic solo at the end
Hello, beautiful people of Afritunes, I hope your weekend is going smoothly and most importantly, you are enjoying it.
On my end, it's moving smoothly and rapidly as always with weekends. Today, in the spirit of celebrating African tunes, I bring you a song that caught my attention recently. The title of the song is I MILLI by Davido.
I was going to present a different song but just this morning, I was going through my playlist and I heard this song and I was hooked immediately. Indeed, it is not a new song, I have listened to it a couple of times but this morning, I was wearing a headphone when I played it and I could clearly hear the chord progressions more than ever and I noticed that the song was composed by only two chords, The 1 and 2 chords. That is very unusual in most African songs.
Despite these unusual characteristics, the song was still embodying the full African vibe. Trying to spell the notes or rather the melody of the song on my acoustic made me realize even more how special the song is. I must say that I became a bit more impressed with Davido s style. The theme of the song is basically about the willingness of a lover to do whatever it takes to be with his crush.
THE MAKING
I created the backing track of the song with my acoustic guitar. Further, I recorded the melody of the song, over the pre-recorded backing track or chords.
I HOPE YOU ENJOY MY PERFORMANCE!!!
