A date with an epic film village
hello friends,
As some of you may know already, I play some movie scenes too. In fact acting has always been my first love and I love it when I am called to play a role. Whether a mini role or not, I get this satisfaction whenever I am in front of the camera. Well, today wasn't different. I got a call some days back that I would be playing some scenes in a movie. With all happiness, I agreed.
I went through the script and loved the story line already. It was about a princess who fell in love and then so many things played out at the end. I am not ready to let the cat out of the bag yet. Don't worry the movie will be out soon and I will share it here for everyone to watch too. This is one movie that everyone needs to see. The story is apt, the actors all brought their A game and trust me to also deliver too.
So we set out to owerri to shoot. It took me about 2hours to get to the location. When I finally did, I was given my custome. I played the role of chief maid to the princess. I was her right hand man. I knew all of her shenanigans and sometimes I covered up for her and other times, I just spilled the milk. Anyway, that was my kind of character. At first I was scared especially when I realized that top Nollywood starts were also featured.
So I got ready and was called to shoot. I was set but something happened. I couldn't find my words. I was star-strucked. I saw the delectable Nollywood living legend, Patience ozokwor. I couldn't find my tongue. The director was becoming impatient because he called he cued me in a lot of times and I couldn't just get my words. Surprisingly, patience ozokwor understood and came closer to me. She gave me a hug and that calmed me down. I became relaxed and immediately transformed into my character.
We shot till the dead of the night and I was so happy to the point that i forgot to even eat. Ever been in that situation where excitement fills your up? Well, that was my state at that time. Here I was admiring and standing next to a living legend. Mama Gee as she is fondly called is a sweet human. She is humble and very down to earth. I asked to take a picture with her and without hesitation, she obliged me. I was stunned by her humility.
Let me talk a little bit about the location. The location is an epic village. The environment itself is so beautiful. Can you see the huts? It really portrays a typical African house. How about the shrine? At first, I was scared of going close to the shrine because I felt it was real. It took me two days after I first saw the place to finally go down to the spot to even take pictures.
The shoot lasted for three days and I left feeling fulfilled at least that I met an icon and I also played my role perfectly well too.
