Another Weekend with Beethoven | Eng-Esp | Otro Fin de Semana con Beethoven

Definitely, despite the serious faces of all the paintings I know of the composer Beethoven, what this great man really transmits is joy and wonder through his music; and it has been demonstrated once again in the ninth symphony that we had the pleasure to perform just this weekend that is ending (I am literally coming from the concert straight to the PC to share this experience with you)...

Definitivamente, a pesar de las caras serias de todas pinturas que conozco del compositor Beethoven, realmente lo que este gran hombre transmite es alegría y maravillas a través de su música; y a quedado demostrado una vez más en la novena sinfonía que tuvimos el placer de interpretar justo este fin de semana que está terminando (literalmente estoy llegando del concierto directo a la PC a compartirles esta experiencia)...

It was a very special and important performance, as we sang to the representatives of the European Union in Venezuela, where Spain was celebrating its new presidency, so our audience are people who appreciate very much the lyrics and music of this symphony, as the first musical fragment that you can see in the video above has been consolidated as the anthem of this union of countries.

Fue una presentación muy especial e importante, ya que le cantamos a los representantes de la Unión Europea en Venezuela, donde España estaba celebrando su nueva presidencia, así que nuestro público son personas que aprecian mucho la letra y música de esta sinfonía, ya que el primer fragmento musical que pueden apreciar en el video de arriba se ha consolidado como himno de esta unión de países.

These four artists that you can see in the photo above are Venezuelan export talent. The two girls were members of our choir, but now the soprano is shining in Germany and the Mezzo-Soprano has even participated in the soundtrack of the movie of the Steven Universe series. The tenor has also performed outside Venezuela and is still a member of the Simon Bolivar Chorale, and the baritone is an Andean who is usually a guest at our musical events.

Estos cuatro artistas que pueden apreciar en la foto de arriba son talento venezolano de exportación. Las dos chicas fueron miembros de nuestra coral, pero ahora la soprano se encuentra brillando en Alemania y la Mezzo-Soprano incluso ha participado en la banda sonora de la película de la serie Steven Universe. El tenor también se ha presentado fuera de Venezuela y sigue siendo miembro de la Coral Simón Bolívar, y el barítono es un andino que generalmente es un invitado en nuestros eventos musicales.

I just finished moving house, which took two months of my life, so it is special for me to start this second part of the year singing Beethoven's ninth symphony, considered the Hymn of Joy. It is impossible not to be moved by this music, everything that is sung there are beautiful phrases and statements of good vibes, even though it is in German, a rather complex language for me, I always sing and understand with pleasure the message that we transmit. The last two times we did this symphony my girl @jhoxiris was the soprano soloist, this time she shared with me in the choir and she tells me that you feel the same joy being in front or behind the orchestra, in fact, this music transmits the same beautiful feeling even if we are among the spectators in the theater seats.

Justamente acabo de terminar mi mudanza de vivienda que se tomó dos meses de mi vida, así que es especial para mí comenzar esta segunda parte del año cantando la novena sinfonía de Beethoven, considerada el Himno de la Alegría. Es imposible no dejarse conmover por esta música, todo lo que se canta ahí son frases hermosas y declaraciones de buena vibra, a pesar de ser en alemán, un idioma bastante complejo para mí, siempre canto y entiendo con todo gusto el mensaje que transmitimos. Las últimas dos veces que hicimos esta sinfonía mi chica @jhoxiris fue la soprano solista, en esta ocasión compartió conmigo en el coro y me dice que se siente la misma dicha estando al frente o detrás de la orquesta, de hecho, esta música transmite el mismo hermoso sentimiento aunque nos encontremos entre los espectadores en las butacas del teatro.

This important concert for us was conducted by Adrián Ascanio, nephew of Maestro José Antonio Abreu and who is taking care of continuing the beautiful legacy of passion for music in Venezuela. I am a tenor in the Simón Bolívar National Choir, but I cheated and sang in the baritone row; that's how I learned it and it is the musical line I enjoy singing the most. The fabulous orchestra that accompanied us was the Simón Bolívar Symphony, who will be performing this same work in August in Scotland; I don't want to brag about our talent, but all together we sound spectacular, I particularly love to see the faces of amazement in the audience when we sing and play the most famous fragments of this symphony, it really is synonymous of joy for the people.

Este importante concierto para nosotros fue dirigido por Adrián Ascanio, sobrino del Maestro José Antonio Abreu y que se está encargando de continuar el hermoso legado de pasión por la música en Venezuela. Soy tenor en la Coral Nacional Simón Bolívar, pero he hecho trampa y canté en la fila de barítonos; así me la aprendí y es la línea musical que más disfruto entonar. La fabulosa orquesta que nos acompañó fue la Sinfónica Simón Bolívar, que justo interpretarán esta misma obra en el mes de agosto en Escocia; no quiero alardear de nuestro talento, pero todos juntos sonamos espectacular, particularmente me encanta ver las caras de asombro en el público cuando cantamos y tocamos los fragmentos más conocidos de esta sinfonía, realmente es sinónimo de alegría para la gente.

Before I say goodbye, I would like to ask all those who read me, especially those who do not know Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, that if one day they hear that it will be presented in their city, they should not miss it. I believe that everyone in the world should enjoy this work of classical music at least once in life, and my advice is to enjoy it live and feel the vibration of each instrument and each voice on the stage. This concert took place the night of Saturday July 1st at the Simon Bolivar Hall of the National Center of Social Action for Music in the city of Caracas. Antes de despedirme quiero pedirle a todos los que me leen, sobretodo a quienes no conozcan la novena sinfonía de Beethoven que si un día escuchan que se presentará en su ciudad, no pueden faltar. Considero que todas las personas del mundo deberían deleitarse con esta obra de la música clásica al menos una vez en la vida, y mi consejo es que la disfruten en vivo y sientan la vibración de cada instrumento de cada voz en la tarima. Este concierto se llevó a cabo la noche del sábado primero de Julio en la Sala Simón Bolívar del Centro Nacional de Acción Social por la Música en la ciudad de Caracas.
