HIVE OPENMIC 54: PARODY SONG FROM 1000 YEARS- BACHELORS SONG BY JAYDR

Wow.. what a beautiful theme this week. I had been looking forward to making this post in time. I hope I do. This week's theme has been musical comedy. I am of the opinion that music can also make people laugh away pain and have a good countenance. And so I thought of doing a parody of a very common song.

Have you ever heard a song that made you laugh out loud? That's how I felt when I wrote the "Bachelor's Song," a parody of Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years."

This parody, which changes the lyrics to be about a hungry and unmarried person, is both hilarious and relatable. It perfectly captures the struggles of being single and constantly hungry. Although this may not be the case for everyone, this is just for the laughs.

The song starts off with the familiar melody of "A Thousand Years," but the lyrics quickly veer off in a different direction. Instead of "heart beats fast," we hear "I m hungry." And instead of "time stands still," hehehe.

The chorus is perhaps the funniest part of the song, with the singer lamenting, "I ve been hungry for a 1000 years", It's a sentiment that many of us can relate to, especially those who live alone and don't have anyone to share meals with.

But despite the humor of the lyrics, there's also a hint of sadness in the song. The singer longs for someone to cook for them and share meals with, but they're stuck in a cycle of hunger and loneliness.
