For those who prefer to read instead of watching the video I am going to write a short summary of what today's topic is about:
The locomotor system is divided into two components, one active and one passive.
The active is composed of the muscles that by their capacity of contraction activate or generate movements in the passive components.
The passive are the bones and the joints.
The joints in turn are divided into 3:
Diarthrosis:
They are those that have the greatest range of motion and have synovial tissue. As for example the shoulder joint or the pelvitrocanteric joint.
Amphiarthrosis:
Those with little motion.
Those that have little movement and have cartilaginous tissue, such as the intervertebral discs.
Synarthrosis:
Those that have no movement, the bony attachments are jagged and the tissue that covers them is fibrous. As for example the sisuras or cranial connections.
