Esta publicación es realmente especial, porque estaré presentando a la comunidad deportiva de HIVE, como lo es FullDeportes la disciplina del SpeedCubing como un deporte emergente, y esto por la tendencia de la población mundial a ver este proceso de resolución de rompecabezas mecánicos tridimensionales como por ejemplo el Cubo de Rubik, como mas allá de un simple juego, sino como un disciplina que requiere mucho entrenamiento físico y mental, para en el menor tiempo posible resolver este tipo de rompecabezas.

This publication is really special, because I will be presenting to the sports community of HIVE, as is FullDeportes the discipline of SpeedCubing as an emerging sport, and this because of the tendency of the world population to see this process of solving three-dimensional mechanical puzzles such as the Rubik's Cube, as beyond a simple game, but as a discipline that requires a lot of physical and mental training, to solve this type of puzzle in the shortest possible time.

Adicionalmente la disciplina del SpeedCubing cuenta con una asociación mundial que respalda todas las competiciones que se realizan, definiendo los protocolos para que estas se desarrollen de la mejor manera posible, llevando todos los registros del rendimiento de los diversos atletas, que según lecturas del portal de la WCA (World Cube Association – Asociación Mundial de Cubos) por su siglas en inglés, la cifra de estos asciende a más de 100 000 distribuidos en más de 140 países, donde se encuentra por ejemplo Venezuela y Perú. En el recurso audiovisual interactuamos con los competidores de este importante evento nacional Perú 2023 que tuve la suerte que se celebrara en Arequipa, la ciudad donde actualmente resido. Interactuamos con diversos atletas, delegados de la WCA y ellos nos manifestaron sus diversas opiniones de la disciplina SpeedCubing como deporte emergente, por lo que te invito a que disfrutes de esta interesante producción y por supuesto de los contenidos escritos que acá se exponen.

Additionally, the discipline of SpeedCubing has a worldwide association that supports all the competitions that are held, defining the protocols for these to develop in the best possible way, keeping all the records of the performance of the various athletes, which according to readings of the WCA (World Cube Association) portal, the number of these amounts to more than 100 000 distributed in more than 140 countries, where for example Venezuela and Peru are located. In the audiovisual resource we interacted with the competitors of this important national event Peru 2023 that I was fortunate to be held in Arequipa, the city where I currently reside. We interacted with various athletes, delegates of the WCA and they expressed their various opinions of the discipline SpeedCubing as an emerging sport, so I invite you to enjoy this interesting production and of course the written content that are exposed here.

En base a lo anterior expuesto, sobre el promover la disciplina del SpeedCubing como deporte emergente Natán Riggenbach comisionado de la WCA nos comenta que cada vez más la afición crece, específicamente en Arequipa, los torneos sobrepasan por lo general los 100 competidores, y se siente contento que este deporte sea cada vez mas conocido. Por su parte el joven André Quispe, que estaba con la función de juez en este importante evento, señala que el SpeedCubin es un deporte mental y físico, lo primero por las altas exigencias de memoria para tener presente los diversos algoritmos que necesitan para resolver un determinado puzzle, y físico por la destreza en los dedos para hacer la solución del puzzle lo mas rápido posible, materializando así la esencia del SpeedCubing.

Based on the above, on promoting the discipline of SpeedCubing as an emerging sport Nathan Riggenbach commissioner of the WCA tells us that more and more fans are growing, specifically in Arequipa, the tournaments usually exceed 100 competitors, and he is happy that this sport is becoming more and more known. En esta ronda de interacciones tuve el honor de conocer a dos grandes de esta disciplina, el primero Gianfranco Huanqui, quien es subcampeón mundial de la modalidad Cubo de Rubik 3x3x3 a Ciegas, con un record de 15 segundos, y también conocimos a Rami Sbahi quien promedia aproximadamente 7 segundos en la resolución del cubo de Rubik 3x3x3 y menos 02 segundos en el cubo de Rubik 2x2x2; vale destacar que ambos atletas son Youtubers profesionales, con más de 40 mil suscriptores, me permito dejarles sus enlaces de canales de YouTube: Gianfranco y Rami . Ambos personajes del mundo del SpeedCubing resaltaron la importancia de ver esto como un deporte, hablando de sus innumerables beneficios para sus practicantes, entre los que destacan el desarrollado de la memoria, concentración, autoestima. En esa misma tónica los atletas Brayan Condori, Marlon Rojas, Leonardo Valverde e Imanol Valverde, también presentaron sus respectivas opiniones, enalteciendo el SpeedCubing como un deporte.

In this round of interactions I had the honor of meeting two greats of this discipline, the first Gianfranco Huanqui, who is world runner-up in the Blind Rubik's Cube 3x3x3, with a record of 15 seconds, and we also met Rami Sbahi who averages approximately 7 seconds in the resolution of the Rubik's Cube 3x3x3x3 and minus 02 seconds in the Rubik's Cube 2x2x2; It is worth noting that both athletes are professional Youtubers, with more than 40 thousand subscribers, I allow me to leave you their YouTube channel links: Gianfranco and Rami . Both personalities of the SpeedCubing world highlighted the importance of seeing this as a sport, talking about its countless benefits for its practitioners, among which stand out the development of memory, concentration and self-esteem. In the same tone the athletes Brayan Condori, Marlon Rojas, Leonardo Valverde and Imanol Valverde, also presented their respective opinions, praising SpeedCubing as a sport.

Cada uno de ellos también nos regaló espectaculares demostraciones resolviendo el cubo de Rubik 3x3x3 y el cubo de Rubik 2x2x2, por lo que es una invitación a que no te pierdas ningún instante de la producción audiovisual que encabeza esta publicación, publicación que tiene la meta de promover el SpeedCubing como deporte emergente, esperando que cada vez sea más difundido, y simplemente denominarlo deporte, que las personas en el mundo al apreciar un Cubo de Rubik, ya no lo vean como un simple juego, sino como una disciplina deportiva que exige un fuerte entrenamiento mental y una gran motricidad. Y como en todo deporte, son necesarias las reglas, los protocolos, de eso se encarga la World Cube Association,es decir, la Asociación Mundial de Cubos. And as in any sport, rules and protocols are necessary, and that is what the World Cube Association is in charge of. Here I share with you some pictures of the competition set.

Se aprecian los relojes, que tienen una gran visibilidad para que el público espectador en vivo y directo disfrute de la emoción de ver quien resuelve el puzzle con mayor rapidez. Al lado de cada atleta se encuentra un juez, quien es el responsable de velar para que la resolución del puzzle se haga sin ningún tipo de irregularidad. Este juez también lleva el control del tiempo que el atleta utiliza para analizar el puzzle previo a su resolución. En futuras publicaciones espero profundizar más en torno a estos aspectos técnicos del arbitraje.

The clocks are highly visible so that the live spectators can enjoy the excitement of seeing who can solve the puzzle the fastest. Next to each athlete is a judge, who is responsible for ensuring that the puzzle is solved without any irregularities. This judge also keeps track of the time that the athlete uses to analyze the puzzle prior to its resolution. In future publications I hope to go more in depth about these technical aspects of refereeing.

Realmente una experiencia fascinante, por lo que desde acá de la sección de noticiero FullDeportivo envío mis palabras de felicitación a la organización de este evento como lo fue el Perú Nationals 2023, así como también a la World Cube Association por el gran trabajo que realizan, y es un gusto contribuir con mi granito de arena en la difusión de esta maravillosa disicplina el SpeedCubing como todo un deporte. Ya para cerra quiero hacer una mención especial a mi equipo de trabajo, sin el mismo este trabajo no hubiese sido posible.
