VIBES WEB3 Music Competition Week 4 | Sway - Pablo Beltrán Ruiz 🎺 (Cover) by @yisusth [ENG/SPA]

Once again, I am happy to participate in this weekly #Vibes community contest. Today I want to share my trumpet interpretation of "Sway", a mambo song composed by Pablo Beltrán Ruiz and Luis Demetrio. The original title in Spanish is “Who Will It Be?”, and Norman Gimbel wrote the lyrics in English. The piece is characterized by its syncopated and contagious rhythm, marked by the percussion section and the use of the harpsichord. It has a moderate tempo and this time I perform it with a Cha-cha-chá rhythm, a very happy genre of Cuban music that emerged from danzón-mambo in the early 1950s. One of the challenges of recording at home is the ambient noise, a door opening, the sound of appliances and people's voices. There are its advantages when you have a recording studio or a private space to achieve optimal performance. Also when you have high-end recording and editing devices. In the end, you have to enjoy it to the fullest with the limitations you have, without creating false expectations.

Una vez más me siento feliz de participar en este concurso semanal de la comunidad #Vibes. Hoy quiero compartir mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Sway», una canción de género mambo compuesto por Pablo Beltrán Ruiz y Luis Demetrio. El título original en español es “¿Quién será?”, y Norman Gimbel escribió la letra en inglés. La pieza se caracteriza por su ritmo sincopado y contagioso, marcado por la sección de percusión y la utilización del clave. Tiene un tempo moderado y en esta oportunidad la interpreto con un ritmo Cha-cha-chá, un género de música cubana muy alegre que surgió del danzón-mambo a principios de la década de 1950. Uno de los desafíos para grabar en casa es el ruido de ambiente, alguna puerta abriéndose, el sonido de los electrodomésticos y las voces de las personas. Existen sus ventajas cuando se tiene un estudio de grabación o un espacio privado para lograr un performance óptimo. También cuando se cuenta con dispositivos de grabación y edición de alta gama. Al final queda disfrutarlo al máximo con las limitaciones que se tiene, sin crearse falsas expectativas.
