It would be difficult to count the times that I have walked in the rain, as a child I did it many times and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was something conscious, one seldom enjoys it when it is something accidental. It can be annoying at times, especially when you have other plans. You are elegantly dressed, a few drops fall and the plan changes. One of the most beautiful experiences that have happened to me in my life is having been a missionary for two years. As a representative of Jesus Christ, I walked through the streets of Carupano, Puerto Ordaz, Anaco, El Tigre, El Tigrito, Ciudad Bolívar, Pariaguán. Peoples of eastern Venezuela. Many times it rained and we were completely soaked, and it was difficult to go back to the apartment to change clothes. We had to keep walking, visiting, and sharing the message that we brought to the homes. On one occasion I was even resting my feet on a sidewalk and a vehicle went through a puddle and I got completely wet. Despite all these setbacks and the intensity of the rain, we were hopeful that the sun would rise again. Many times we can feel like this, we can feel that we can't take it anymore. We are overwhelmed by worries, work stress, and college classes overwhelm us, we have a load that we cannot overcome. However, nature teaches us that the sun will return, happiness will win, and freedom will come. Music is a powerful balm against the storm.

Today I want to share with you a song with the trumpet that is a classic of Soft Rock and traditional pop called «Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head». This song was made popular by B. J. Thomas and composed by Burt Bacharach and Hal David for the 1969 film Two Men and a Destiny. The lyrics tell us about the contrast between rain and sun, about not worrying and complaining because sooner or later the sun will rise early.

Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head

Raindrops are falling on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
    Nothing seems to fit
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling

So I just did me some talking to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he got things done
    Sleeping on the job
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling

But there's one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me
Won't defeat me, it won't be long
Till happiness steps up to greet me
Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red
    Crying's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining
    Because I'm free
    Nothing's worrying me

It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red
    Crying's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining
    Because I'm free
    Nothing's worrying me
