CREATING SWEET MEMORIES FOR MY KIDS

The dazzle in my children's eyes walking into the colorful bustle of Ikeja City Mall on Friday sparked joy deep in my soul. We try to have regular outings, but haven't made it to this lively shopping center on the mainland before. I wanted Jamiel, 5 and Joella 2, to experience both shopping sprees and playtime fun to unwind school stress and make carefree memories together. As their wide smiles, silly antics, boundless appetite and wonder unfolded through that special afternoon, this mama's heart surged with gratitude at the blessing of nourishing their childhood innocence amidst chaotic city life.

I am really grateful to @alonicus and his wife for gifting my kids the funds to have this wonderful outing, they actually made one of my Christmas wishes for last year come true and i am very grateful for this

The kids, after sampling sweet and peppery suya treats from the food vendors, we headed straight for the expansive children's play zone filled with pop music and laughter. The kids got swept up in energetic games like balloon volleyball with new friends, then had their faces painted like superheroes, Joella was scared to have Hera done when she saw her brother's face, well we had to give her something more fun to do ,Photos snapped to capture jamiel's green superhero mask will forever memorialize his beaming pride.

Tuckered out eventually from nonstop play, they refueled with extra scoops of rainbow sherbet ice cream alongside I and their dad's frozen coffee flavored ice cream Pure sticky bliss! Our last adventure was browsing the toy store's aisles stuffed floor to ceiling with every kind of doll, action figure, board game and robotic gadget. I let each child select one modest treat.

They fell asleep as soon as we boarded a bus back to our home,both kids quickly surrendered to satisfied sleep with shiny play zone wristbands still adorning their little wrists. As we went home safely through clogged roads, my own overflowing joy kept tiredness at bay. Providing my babies refuge in innocent fun amidst turbulent life and news reports fills me with triumph far beyond trinket souvenirs. Of course bills and chores wait at home as always; but revived by laughter's afterglow, Jamiel and Joella and I and their dad can tackle all with playful solidarity. Here's to many more family adventures drinking deep of joy along life's bumpy ride.
