Hello again to all the members of this appreciated community of "Full Sports"
Delighted to be here with you once again sharing knowledge of martial arts and contact sports.
Today I bring you a very interesting and technical video that will help you learn and develop hip work, characteristic of traditional Karate, and how this training allows you to significantly improve the strength and power of punching in the most popular contact sports of these times.
This video today will be the first part of two videos in which I will demonstrate this work.
I have decided to do it in two parts to give you the opportunity to go from the most basic in this training routine to a more advanced level that I will present in the next video, part two, of this work.
So I have divided today’s process into 4 parts, as follows:
Muscle conditioning
The first thing will be to raise that heart rate and bring the muscles to a good tone so that the execution of technical movements does not present a risk of injury to our muscle fibers.
So then, we will work:
- 4 continuous series, without rest, of "jumping Jacks". The number of repetitions is adapted to your abilities.
- Flexo-extension of the hip. It can be done combined, flexing the knee at the same time when going up to give the quadriceps more prominence.
- Circumduction of the hip. You can also work combined by bending the knee and both from the inside out and from the outside in.
- Hip abduction.
- Retroversion and anteversion of the hip
Once the muscular event is over, our lower body and mainly the hip are ready to start the technical movements of the basic positions of traditional karate.
Explanation and application of the "Zenkutsu dachi" position and its hip work
In the video you will be able to visualize technically how to correctly place your legs and feet so that this position is well executed and so that the movement of the hip accompanies the hit of the "Tsuki" (punch), from the simplest.

Explanation and application of the "Kiba Dachi" and "Fudo Dachi" positions and their hip change work by combining them.
In the same way, from the most basic we will see the correct position of the legs, feet, and body weight of these karate movements and how they accompany the blows of "Age Tsuki" (Hook) and "Ura Tsuki" (upper).

Process of "cool down" and stretching of the lower body
The end of the training must be as good as the beginning, so just as we raise the revolutions working that cardiovascular acceleration, we must also slow down and take advantage of the fact that the muscles are conditioned to stretch the ligaments, give our joints a greater range of mobility without hurt and relax the muscles.
To do this, we will perform a series of leg elongation and flexibility movements, both of which are very useful and productive.
It is important during this phase of exercises not to decompensate the back by performing positions incorrectly.

Oss!
This is how we culminate this first part of this training for the development of power and punching force in contact sports from the technical work of basic karate positions and their hip work.
I hope you liked it, that you can make the most of it and practice it to be able to apply it more fluently in the second part of this training, where I will demonstrate the dynamic application of this hip work in contact sports, through a series of very useful exercises.
See you around the corner! For the second part.
