Hii friends, it's a beautiful week with a most timely theme. This week was a "cool" one (I'm maintaining positivity 😂) and I just had to tell myself that giving up is not an option. Making this video, I was stressed out and unprepared, but I didn't want to miss out on the week's theme, hence my unusual choice of music.

Coat of many colors is a song I heard and learned at a young age, and I'm sure most people are familiar with the song by the iconic Dolly Parton (the woman who never grows old). Talks about how a child's poor mother made her a coat from rags against the cold of the fall and likens it to Joseph's coat in the Bible.

Although the song itself has a message, I chose this song for the theme because whenever I want to give up, I'm reminded of hurdles I've overcome. There are some challenges we face that overcoming is like releasing your breath. So when greater challenges come our way, we believe that if we can overcome those hurdles, we can overcome any hurdle at all, even if they are greater.

I imagine being in her shoes and telling myself, "If I could live a childhood with no fancy things but a happy outlook towards life, bring it on; I can overcome anything. It's all a matter of our mindset. So next time you want to give up, remember that victory you're so proud of and remember that God's got you always.

Hola amigos, es una hermosa semana con un tema de lo más oportuno. Esta semana ha sido una semana "guay" (mantengo la positividad 😂) y sólo tenía que decirme a mi misma que rendirse no es una opción. Haciendo este vídeo, estaba estresada y poco preparada, pero no quería perderme el tema de la semana, de ahí mi inusual elección de música.

Coat of many colors es una canción que escuché y aprendí de joven, y estoy seguro de que la mayoría de la gente conoce la canción de la icónica Dolly Parton (la mujer que nunca envejece). Habla de cómo la pobre madre de una niña le hizo un abrigo con harapos contra el frío del otoño y lo compara con el abrigo de José en la Biblia.

Aunque la canción en sí tiene un mensaje, elegí esta canción para el tema porque siempre que quiero rendirme, me acuerdo de los obstáculos que he superado. Hay algunos retos a los que nos enfrentamos que superarlos es como soltar el aliento. Así que cuando se nos presentan retos mayores, creemos que si podemos superar esos obstáculos, podemos superar cualquier obstáculo, aunque sea mayor.

Me imagino en su pellejo y diciéndome a mí misma: "Si pudiera vivir una infancia sin lujos pero con una actitud feliz ante la vida, adelante; puedo superarlo todo". Todo es cuestión de nuestra mentalidad. Así que la próxima vez que quieras rendirte, recuerda esa victoria de la que estás tan orgullosa y recuerda que Dios te tiene siempre.
