Hello friends of Hive, I'm here again to leave a post about a new adventure! Today was a pretty fun day and I discovered a cave that is not identified on googlemaps! While researching areas in the Sesimbra region to explore I came across some people who described that in the surroundings near the Atlantic there is a cave that is very interesting and can be explored, so I prepared my hiking gear and went to investigate!😮😃

Sesimbra is very interesting because basically it is a coastal city shrouded in many mysteries, it is one of the areas on the southern edge of Lisbon that has the largest number of natural cave systems, and of course there is an explanation for this! As Sesimbra is a city very close to the ocean, the erosion of the water produced by the Atlantic Ocean creates a system of caves on the entire shore of the territory. We must bear in mind that granite is the predominant material in the mountains, also creating systems of caves with millions of years🧠

I found out about this cave thanks to an explorer that I follow on facebook who is always creating and discovering new trails! let's say that he was the one who discovered the cave for the first time, it caught my attention that no one had tried to create the record in googlemaps, this made the site a mystery and difficult to find! I don't know if it's intentional and the cave is hidden there from tourists to preserve it! the truth is that I would do the impossible to locate and explore it🤯🤯

It is a place where you can do various types of activities! With 20 euros you can join a group and practice climbing, surfing, fishing and many other activities! This area is very popular in summer because, as you can see, it has a beautiful landscape and its beaches are too good! I think there is a false myth of tourists thinking that the best beaches are those of the Algarve and for me it is not like that! just visit the sesimbra and setubal area to enjoy beautiful beaches! Although my walk would take about 40 minutes, I would have to enter the vegetation in the mountain to reach the cave! I did about 3 kilometers walking from where I had parked my car!😍😍

It was a very interesting activity and I took the opportunity to exercise a little with my wife! we had a long time that we did not do a path together, since I was accompanied I had certain limitations, sometimes I take risks and climb some small mountains or things of that kind but when you are accompanied you enjoy the moment interacting more, it took us about an hour to find the place, the first time we got lost because as there is no signage and there is nothing on googlemaps it is a bit difficult so I used a bit of "common sense" to find the cave xD, we had passed and arrived at a beach, it didn't make sense because the landscape did not match the photos I had seen!😮😅😄

Until we arrived at our destination and it was very interesting, first there was little activity inside, that is, it is not a very frequented place and it is in the middle of nowhere! second I saw some big stalactites so I knew that the cave was millions of years old and very old! because of the way it is formed and being far from the ocean, it was clearly formed by the rain, since I saw a small hole in the roof that I assumed was where the water entered, it was about 15 meters and about 8 meters high, but there was a area that was very deep where I imagine they do exploration activities😎😎!

With this post I hope to send a request on googlemaps to create the tourist site and that many people can enjoy this wonder, I think we must learn to value our natural resources since they can be a tourist potential! my intention is to call it "hive cave" let's see if google approves it xD😮😮
