One of the many museums that we can find in the center of the city of Lima is the Museum of the Central Bank of the Reserve of Peru, this was initially the Central Bank of the Reserve, but in 1982 became a museum in view of the need for expansion of the same bank. As you can see, it has a very robust structure and adorned by two columns on each side, the entrance gives the feeling of entering a very important place and indeed it is, at present are still kept in this place very valuable treasures of Peru.

Something that caught my attention was the ceiling decorated or carved in hexagons, the lights on are beautiful and spectacular, certainly one of the great attractions of the structure of this museum, also draws attention to the windows which seem to be taken from the banks that we usually see in the movies.

Uno de los tantos museos que podemos encontrar en el centro de la ciudad de Lima es el Museo del Banco Central de la Reserva del Perú, éste inicialmente era el mismísimo Banco Central de la Reserva, pero en 1982 pasó a ser un museo vista la necesidad de expansión del mismo banco. Como pueden ver, cuenta con una estructura bastante robusta y adornada por dos columnas en cada costado, la entrada da la sensación de estar ingresando a un lugar muy importante y en efecto así es, en la actualidad se siguen guardando en este lugar tesoros muy valiosos del Perú.

Algo me llamó mucho la atención, fue el techo adornado o tallado en hexágonos, las luces encendidas se ven hermosas y espectaculares, sin duda de los grandes atractivos de la estructura de este museo; también llama la atención los ventanales los cuales parecen sacados de los bancos que normalmente vemos en las películas.

Evolution of Peruvian Coins and Banknotes // Evolución de las monedas y billetes peruanos

In the following photos you can see a very important piece of the history of Peru, this museum exhibits coins dating from 1565 onwards and the truth is exciting to see the evolution of the carved images, as well as the finish of the same, there is no doubt that time as usual has done its evolutionary work. We can also observe banknotes which began to be produced from the year 1863, these have the most notorious change through time.

En las siguientes fotos podrán observar un pedazo muy importante de la historia del Perú, este museo exhibe monedas que datan del año 1565 en adelante y la verdad es excitante ver la evolución de las imágenes talladas, así como del acabado de las mismas, no cabe dudas de que el tiempo como de costumbre ha hecho su trabajo evolutivo. También podemos observar billetes los cuales se empezaron a producir desde el año 1863, éstos tienen el cambio más notorio a través del tiempo.

Clay, fabric and metal handicrafts // Artesanías de barro, tela y metal

This museum not only offers objects related to the financial theme, we can also find handicrafts of cloth, clay, mud and some metal, all are divided by regions as they come from different provinces of Peru. As you probably already know, Peru has a very rich millenary history which makes its museums always have something interesting to show, I would say that its museums are among the luckiest in the world.

Éste museo no solo ofrece objetos relacionados al tema financiero, también podemos encontrar artesanías de tela, arcilla, barro y algunas de metal, todas están divididas por regiones ya que provienen de distintas provincias del Perú. Como seguro ya sabrán, el Perú cuenta con una historia milenaria muy rica lo cual hace que sus museos siempre tengan algo interesante que mostrar, yo diría que sus museos son de los más afortunados del mundo.

The great vault // La gran bóveda

One of the things that impressed me the most while walking through the different corridors, was to find a real bank vault, the thickness of its walls and door seem totally unreal, it has a round window that I guess was to take out or put money, jewelry and gold in small amounts.

Una de las cosas que mas me impresionó mientras paseaba por los diferente pasillos, fue encontrarme con una bóveda bancaria real, el grosor de sus paredes y de su puerta parecen totalmente irreales, ésta cuenta con una ventana redonda que supongo era para sacar o meter dinero, joyas y oro en pequeñas cantidades.

On the second floor we can find a large gallery of paintings mostly made by Peruvian artists, these are not related to the coins or financial history of Peru, but are considered very valuable art, in addition, this enriches the variety of artistic elements that can be found in this museum.

En el segundo piso podemos encontrar una amplia galería de pinturas en su mayoría realizadas por artistas peruanos, éstas no guardan relación con las monedas o historia financiera del Perú, pero son consideradas como arte muy valioso, además, esto enriquece la variedad de elementos artísticos que se pueden encontrar en este museo.

I wanted to share this last photo with all of you because it gives a broader view of this great museum which tells us an important part of the history of Peru, this is surrounded by establishments that are very close so it is quite complicated to take a full shot photo.

Quise compartir esta última foto con todos ustedes ya que da un mirada un poco mas amplia de este gran museo el cual nos cuenta una parte importante de la historia del Perú, este se encuentra rodeado de establecimientos que están muy cercanos por lo que es bastante complicado tomar una foto a plano completo.
