    About :

In this second installment of "Musical Readings" I wanted to do something different. A few days ago, while searching for sheet music on the web, I almost accidentally found a beautiful arrangement of an iconic traditional Irish tune, it's "Danny Boy".

I came across an arrangement for alto recorder and piano, so it occurred to me to record the accompaniment not with a piano sound (as it appears in the original arrangement), but with a string and harpsichord sound. I really liked the result, so after making some adjustments to the DAW knobs, I decided to record the flute, adding some small variations at the time.

Since this segment is called "Musical Readings", I have tried not to memorize the piece, to force myself to read it when recording it. This doesn't mean that I haven't read it several times before recording, but if you told me right now - Hey, play that melody you recorded again -, I wouldn't be able to do it.

In other installments I would like to integrate another of the instruments that I enjoy playing apart from the piano and recorder.

I hope you liked this traditional tune as much as I did. Before I say goodbye, I want to thank you for reading this post until the end. See you in the next installment.

    Peace and good!

    ¡Paz y Bien!
