AFRITUNES WEEK 95: FIRST POST OF THE YEAR: THANKSGIVING : THROUGH ALL GENERATIONS ACOUSTIC COVER

Hello, friends. Allow me to officially welcome you to the brand new year, 2024. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to each one of you who has, in various ways, enriched my 2024 experience in our beloved community, Afri-t-u-n-e. Truthfully, it has been a very intensive year of learning and relearning many things through your comments and very supportive, constructive feedback. Without these insights, I wouldn't have improved in my musical journey, especially concerning an African-oriented sound.

It's equally important to extend great thanks to the group of moderators and organizers of all the events we've had this year, including the African Christmas Concert. They have showcased great creativity and leadership qualities. Without their inputs, our experience here might not have been as smooth. So, I take this opportunity to say to them, "Keep it up."

For today, I wish to present a beautiful song generally known as "Magnificat" because of its characteristic content. Normally, Magnificat tunes and songs vary from solemn chant styles to very energetic African styles. Hence, today, I want to present an African-oriented Magnificat, encompassing percussion, rhythm, and melody purely rooted in African culture. It's important to note that I chose to open the year's presentation on my own end with a Magnificat because "Magnificent" essentially means glorifying God.

Now, a bit of background on the origin of Magnificat: It is essential to note that the words of Magnificat come from the scriptures. Specifically, the father of John, known as Zachariah, phrased the Magnificat. After being struck temporarily mute due to his disbelief in the angel's announcement of his wife Elizabeth's pregnancy, Zachariah regained his voice when John was born. Filled with the Holy Spirit, he uttered the words of Magnificat, magnifying and offering thanks to God.

So, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I ask you all to join me in this thankful procession, to breathe the name of the Lord for His abundant mercies and to ask Him to bless every single one of our endeavors in this new brand year, 2024. I genuinely hope you enjoy the presentation, and as always, I expect and look forward to your feedback through the comment section.

HERE IS A SHORT LYRICS OF THE SONG

My soul is filled with joy
As I sing to God my savior
He has looked upon his servant,
He has visited his people, and holy is his name...

    Through all generations
    Everlasting is his mercy
To the people he has chosen
    And Holy is his name....

    I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT

    DO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL YEAR🎶💯🎉🎉
