After having completed a really extensive first level, it's time to continue with Lara's adventure in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and faster and faster this title shows me how much it diverges from my idea about how the adventure would be based on the previous title that could be considered as the prequel. As soon as the level starts I am presented with the main objective of this title or at least it is more extensive which is based on gathering the parts of Osiris to achieve resurrect him or recover his power and something quite peculiar was as soon as the level begins we have a battle against a boss although the truth was pretty quick to beat and with the scepter of Osiris was somewhat easy, after this it shows that we must get many more relics of Osiris and something peculiar is how this title will not be linear.
The temple of Osiris seems to be a central area in which I can move freely and choose which paths or dungeons to do to go getting all the relics without having a mandatory order or being limited to a linear path. Another aspect that I discovered quite quickly and that greatly changed the style of gameplay are the chests, that's right, we have chests that we can open with the gems we get and the chests are reappearing every so often. With this chests I got a lot of amulets and rings, although with very basic bonuses.
There is also something called the community chest and I did not really understand how often you can reopen it, but for some reason when I opened this chest I received a lot of weapons and even several Skins so in a matter of minutes my inventory increased greatly, although the Skins is not that you can appreciate very well beyond the cinematics and for now the best weapon still seems to me the scepter of Osiris.
The main area of the temple of Osiris was very extensive and with some parts where I imagine that I will have to return to have more skills or weapons, as well as having obelisks of challenges which I do not know how their challenges will be, for now I decided to just explore a little and then go down the path that the game had recommended me and that seems to be the first to finish discovering all the new mechanics of this title. When I entered the crypt or dungeon to describe it in a way, I got the exclusive objectives of that area and I was pleased to see that they still follow the typical objectives of completing it in a time limit, although it seems that the time limits are very exaggerated and you practically have to memorize and optimize the entire route perfectly to get it.
For being the first levels again was a fairly large and somewhat complicated area with some jumps, but what caught my attention was the new mechanics of the new giant spheres that have a style of mythological or magical machinery where when activated with the scepter we can move them, but when you change weapons or stop using the scepter they will start a countdown to later explode and allow us to destroy certain specific walls. One aspect that I found very uncomfortable and more so considering how it was in the previous title was the climbing hook, in this version it seems that there is no button to use it automatically without having to equip it as a weapon or at least it seems that with keyboard and mouse there is not, also the movement when you are using the hook was more clumsy and complicated to master.
The challenges of this level were entertaining and were not too complex to take too long to analyze them, another aspect that surprised me was the end of the level where after getting the relic we have a kind of loot room or recovery room where in addition to having first aid kits and ammunition boxes we also have several gems and a good amount of chests to open, Although to leave the room we use a kind of magic circle that transports us to the temple of Osiris and personally it is a little weird, I will try the other Skins I got and we'll see how the next challenges in the following levels turn out.
