    Good morning to all @splinterlands players, as this time we are entering the weekly challenge of Splinterlands Art Contest Week 247

    The card to choose was Lorna Shine, as her design has something that captivates the attention of whoever sees it.

    To elaborate it I opened the paint Tool Sai, and I started to draw some lines with the mouse and guided by the reference of the thumbnail image.

    While I was drawing the lines I started to see details that the reference art, that made me fly ideas.

    She has a slender appearance
    Her physique is more of a female fencer, rather than a heavily armored warrior,

    the symbol on her chest looked like Shazam, as it has a certain shape of a lightning bolt, although the part in the center "in black" did not define me if it was a black scarf or some important part of the design, as this dark part goes over the armor.

    Para elaborarlo abrí el paint Tool Sai, empece a estocar algunas lineas a base de ratón e ir guiándome por la referencia de la imagen en miniatura.

    Mientras trazaba las lineas, empece a ver detalles que el arte de referencia me hacían volar ideas.

    Ella tiene un aspecto delgado, su físico es mas de una mujer esgrimista, mas que de una chica con armadura pesada, el símbolo en su pecho parecía de Shazam, un rayo, aunque la parte del centro "en negro" no me definía si era una pañoleta negra o alguna parte importante, ya que esta va sobre la armadura .

    The other thing is that she has features in her look like Steven Universe's character Pearl, so to me, the thing could make sense.

    How can a lightweight character hold a giant sword?

    The answer in all RPG games is accessories, in this case a medal or gem that increases her physical strength and the carrying capacity of her (stats) so that she can now wield a heavy weapon.

    Therefore I thought that the black part of the chest could be a gem that gives strength (+10), either a medallion, or a crystal that comes embedded in her armor.

    Other features of the reference design, divert a lot of attention to the red hair.
    The question is why?

    When looking at the complete artwork, the proportion of the head is somewhat small, and the sword to be held is huge, so the hair was there to focus the gaze from the canvas to the face.

    Lo otro es que Ella tiene rasgos en su mirada como de Perla de Steven universe, Así que para mi, la cosa podía tener sentido.

    ¿como un personaje de peso ligero puede sostener una espada gigante?

    La respuesta en todos los juegos RPG son los accesorios, en este caso un medalla o gema que le incremente su fuerza física y la capacidad de carga en sus (estadísticas) para que ella ahora si, pueda empuñar un arma pesada.

    Por ello pensé que esa parte negra del pecho podía ser una gema que de fuerza (+10), bien sea un medallon, o un cristal que esta viene incrustada en su armadura.

    Otros rasgos del diseño de referencia, desvían mucho la mirada al cabello de color rojo
    ¿la pregunta es porque?

    al ver el arte completo detalle que la proporción de la cabeza es algo pequeña, y que la espada a sostener es enorme, asi que el cabello estaba alli para enfocar la mirada del lienzo a la cara.

    Taking that detail, I made the face a little more proportionate, and let the hair flow a little more naturally.

    Since the weapon holster on her back should prevail over the red hair.

    I focused the look on someone more awake, since she is in full battle, then I added some light freckles to focus more elements in her eyes.

    Well, I think red hair and freckles go as two everyday elements.

    Tomando ese detalle, elabore un rostro algo mas proporcionado, y deje que el cabello fluyera algo mas natural.

    Ya que la funda de su arma en su espalda debe prevalecer sobre el cabello rojo.

    La mirada la enfoque en alguien mas despierta, ya que esta en plena batalla, luego añadi unas ligeras pecas para centrar mas elementos en sus ojos

    Pues creo que las chicas pelirojas y las pecas, van como dos elementos cotidianos.

    I may have made it unnecessarily complicated by placing overlapping lines to give an effect of maya to his inner armor, but I think he should have it in his clothing.

    About her physique and armor, I tried to follow a logical pattern (for me), which is:
    if her face is thin and delicate with sharp angles, I think the rest of her physique and clothing should be the same way.

    About the colors, try to use the same colors of the reference chart as similar as possible.

    Puede que me complique de forma innecesaria al colocar lineas sobrepuestas para dar un efecto de maya a su armadura interna, pero creo que debia tenerlo si o si en su vestimenta.

    Sobre su fisico y armadura, intente seguir un patrón logico (para mi), que es:
    si su cara es fina y delicada con ángulos puntiagudos, creo que el resto de su físico y vestimenta debería ser de igual manera.

    Sobre los colores, pues intente usar los mismos de la carta de referencia lo mas similar posible.

    RESULT

    This is a personal interpretation of the character Lorna, with the elements mentioned above that went through my mind, at the time of defining the context when drawing her.
