(Esp-Eng) Una novata como yo hablando de “House Of The Dragon” junto a @promete0sz / Capítulo I

Y mira que yo nunca he sido de ver series de ficción, a excepción de “El cuento de la criada”, y eso fue porque transmitía un mensaje de superación, resiliencia y estoicismo, conceptos muy importantes para alguien como yo que le apasionan los temas de desarrollo personal.

Pero…me dije a mi misma: - Iosune ¿Qué puede pasar? ¿Qué no te guste? ¡Eso no es un problema!

Así que me quité todos los perjuicios que hasta ahora tenía con las series de ficción y me puse a verla. De momento ví los dos primeros capítulos y en base a eso escribo esta publicación.

Y he de decir que, de primeras me impresionaron dos cosas:

• La estética y esos cabellos tan sumamente oxigenados rozando el extremo

• La extremada violencia que se muestra en pantalla en varias ocasiones: el parto de la madre de la princesa Rhaenyra y los duros y explícitos enfrentamientos entre caballeros ante la atenta mirada del rey Viserys y el resto de la familia desde el palco real, por ejemplo.

And look, I have never been one to watch fiction series, with the exception of "The Handmaid's Tale", and that was because it conveyed a message of self-improvement, resilience and stoicism, very important concepts for someone like me who is passionate about topics. of personal development.

But…I said to myself: - Iosune, what can happen? What don't you like? That's not a problem!

So I got rid of all the prejudices that until now had with the fiction series and I started to see it. At the moment I saw the first two chapters and based on that I write this publication.

And I have to say that, at first, I was impressed by two things:

• The aesthetics and those highly oxygenated hair touching the extreme

• The extreme violence that is shown on screen on several occasions: the birth of Princess Rhaenyra's mother and the harsh and explicit confrontations between knights under the watchful eye of King Viserys and the rest of the family from the royal box, for example.

Después de eso y de observar detenidamente cómo se desenvolvió cada uno de los personajes y la trama, en un principio pensé que la serie estaba ambientada en la edad media. Y automáticamente me vino a la cabeza el Reinado de los Reyes Católicos, aquí en España en en siglo XV.

Por eso me dió por investigar un poco más y pude saber que está ambientada en la época de la “Anarquía”. Donde aconteció una Guerra Civil que se produjo en los años 1135 y 1153 y que enfrentó a Inglaterra y Normandía debido a la crisis de sucesión en el reinado de Enrique I de Inglaterra.

Y en el momento en el que supe esto, tuve una motivación más para ver la serie.

Porque las intrigas de Monarquías y Casas Reales siempre me gustaron y te mantienen atenta a la trama y a todas las intrigas que se van sucediendo conforme los capítulos avanzan.

Incluso me ha servido para empatizar más con los personajes y saber ponerme mucho más en su lugar y al contexto de la época histórica de la que estamos hablando. Donde se cometían barbaridades y abusos de todo tipo como:

• Tratar a la mujer como si fuera un objeto,sin voluntad propia y cuyo único fin era procrear y traer un heredero al mundo, como fue el caso de la madre de la princesa Rhaenyra.

• La codicia del Rey Viserys que antepuso la vida de su esposa por traer un heredero para la Corona.

• El impedir por parte del Rey Viseys, que su hija la Princesa Rhaenyra pusiera en práctica las buenas ideas expuestas en el Consejo Real, para mejorar diversos asuntos de la Monarquía.

• El acceder a mantener una entrevista con la hija de Lord Corlys Velaryon de 9 años, como posible candidata a convertirse en su esposa para tener hijos con ella y asegurar su linaje.

After that and carefully observing how each of the characters and the plot unfolded, at first I thought that the series was set in the middle ages. And automatically the Reign of the Catholic Monarchs came to mind, here in Spain in the 15th century.

That is why I decided to investigate a little more and I was able to find out that it is set in the time of "Anarchy". Where there was a Civil War that took place in the years 1135 and 1153 and that confronted England and Normandy due to the succession crisis in the reign of Henry I of England.

And the moment I found out about this, I had one more motivation to watch the series.

Because I always liked the intrigues of Monarchies and Royal Houses and they keep you attentive to the plot and to all the intrigues that are happening as the chapters progress.

It has even helped me to empathize more with the characters and know how to put myself much more in their place and in the context of the historical period we are talking about. Where atrocities and abuses of all kinds were committed such as:

• Treating women as if they were an object, without their own will and whose sole purpose was to procreate and bring an heir into the world, as was the case with the mother of Princess Rhaenyra.

• The greed of King Viserys who put his wife's life before bringing an heir to the Crown.

• Preventing by King Viseys, that his daughter Princess Rhaenyra put into practice the good ideas exposed in the Royal Council, to improve various matters of the Monarchy.

• He agreed to hold an interview with the 9-year-old daughter of Lord Corlys Velaryon, as a possible candidate to become his wife to have children with her and ensure his lineage.
