Moliendo café es una famosísima canción venezolana en ritmo orquídea compuesta el año 1958. Aunque siempre hemos creído que Hugo Blanco es el autor, al parecer el verdadero compositor de la canción es su tío José Manzo Perroni, quien le dió el tema a su sobrino para que lo interpretara y grabara el año 1960, sin embargo otra versión es que Hugo Blanco era menor de edad cuando la escribió y le pidió a su tío que la registrara.
En Venezuela y Latinoamérica, quien realmente la popularizó fue el gran Mario Suárez el año 1961; ese mismo año la cantante italiana Mina la grabó y de inmediato se popularizó en todad Italia y en gran parte de Europa.
En el 1961 también la grabó Lucho Gatica y enseguida fue un éxito en México y Chile.
En el 1962 Edith Salzedo "La negrita cariñosa" alcanzó una gran fama en Japón donde interpretó y grabó "Moliendo café" en japonés. El titulo que le dieron a la canción en ese idioma fue "Coffee Rumba".

Grinding coffee is a very famous Venezuelan song in orchid rhythm composed in 1958. Although we have always believed that Hugo Blanco is the author, apparently the real composer of the song is his uncle José Manzo Perroni, who gave the song to his nephew to perform and record it in 1960, however another version is that Hugo Blanco was a minor when he wrote it and asked his uncle to record it.
In Venezuela and Latin America, who really popularized it was the great Mario Suarez in 1961; that same year the Italian singer Mina recorded it and it immediately became popular throughout Italy and most of Europe.
In 1961 it was also recorded by Lucho Gatica and immediately became a hit in Mexico and Chile.
In 1962 Edith Salzedo "La negrita cariñosa" achieved great fame in Japan where she interpreted and recorded "Moliendo café" in Japanese. The title given to the song in that language was "Coffee Rumba".

Este tema ha sido grabado por innumerales artistas y en diferentes versiones a nivel mundial, Julio Iglesias, Javier Solís, Ismael Rivera, José Luis Rodríguez, Vieja Trova Santiaguera, Ricardo Montaner, Plácido Domingo, Azúcar Moreno, Pérez Prado, Paco de Lucia por nombrar algunos. Se calcula que existen unas 800 versiones de ésta emblemática canción venezolana.
De lo que no hay duda es que Hugo Blanco y Moliendo café son dos importantes referencias musicales venezolanas a nivel mundial.

There are two very curious facts that I did not know

"Moliendo Café" se ha convertido en un canto popular para los fanáticos del fútbol de todo el mundo y en Europa es ampliamente conocido como  "Dale Cavese". El cántico fue adoptado por primera vez por los hinchas de Boca Juniors unos años después de que Julio Iglesias grabara la     canción en 1976.El cántico fue recogido por hinchas del equipo italiano 
Cavese 1919 tras toparse con un CD de cánticos de Boca Juniors.  
Los fanáticos lo usaron por primera vez en un partido contra el Ancona en septiembre de 2006, y un clip de su canto "Dale Cavese" se subió a  YouTube en 2007. El video se volvió viral y su popularidad luego se  extendió a otros clubes alrededor del mundo, con muchos fanáticos adaptando los cánticos para sus propios equipos

"Moliendo Café" has become a popular chant for soccer fans around the  world and in Europe it is widely known as "Dale Cavese." The chant was first adopted by Boca Juniors fans a few years after Julio Iglesias  recorded the song in 1976.The chant was picked up by fans of Italian team 
Cavese 1919 after coming across a CD of Boca Juniors chants.  
Fans first used it in a match against Ancona in September 2006,  and a clip of their chant "Dale Cavese" was uploaded to YouTube in 2007. The video went viral and its popularity then spread to other clubs around  the world, with many fans adapting the chants for their own teams.

La hinchada del Atlético Nacional de Colombia "Los Del Sur" adaptó esta canción para realizar un homenaje a jugadores e hinchas fallecidos, la canción es antecedida por un toque de trompetas y un minuto de silencio. La canción se titula "La banda inmortal".

The fans of Atletico Nacional of Colombia "Los Del Sur" adapted this song to pay tribute to deceased players and fans, the song is preceded by a trumpet call and a minute of silence. The song is titled "La banda inmortal".

Hoy les dejo mi sencilla versión que tiene que ver con el tema de ésta semana Prejuicios, ya que esta canción hace referencia de manera muy sutil al amor no correspondido del hombre que trabaja en las cafetaleras y está enamorado de una mujer a la cual no puede llegar debido justamente a los prejuicios.

Today I leave you my simple version that has to do with this week's theme Prejuicios, since this song refers in a very subtle way to the unrequited love of the man who works in the coffee plantations and is in love with a woman whom he cannot reach precisely because of prejudice.
